Woohoo!!! Congrats to everyone with an interview!!

I just called, but it looks like Montreal hasn't done their scheduling yet. I got the usual answer - we schedule the second week of the month so call back next week. I wanted to say, "Liar, liar, pants on fire", but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

danat, Remo and dvrjwh!!

Quick question for you and all others who have sent their documents. How many of you have sent both AOS and Ds-230 together in one Packet?? I sent my documents seperatly in two different packets!! Just wondering!! Thanks!!

I saw several people who sent them together and I toyed with the idea but didn't do it. From what I can tell, the only benefit is that you don't get a false RFE. Oh yeah, I guess you'd save on mailing charges also. I sent mine separately and they must have been timed right because I didn't get a false RFE... got a real one instead darn it. lol

I sent them at the same time but separated, and even tho they had told me they got both I still got a false RFE but I won't complain is better than a real RFE (wich i tought we were gonna get, because my hubby sponsored my with his unemployment benefits and I totally thought they were gonna say no no)

We sent ours in separately, hubby from the US for the I864 and I sent the DS 230 direct from the UK. We did go through the false RFE thing though, which at the time was a worry!!

I sent the packages separately which worked to our advantage because few days after we sent the DS-230, we found out we got a real RFE on AOS. We were able to take care of the checklist package as NVC began reviewing the DS-230. It would have delayed us more than a week if we sent the packages together.

What a Shitty morning!!! Called the IRS to check on my spouses ITIN number and I was told they sent a rejection letter! WHAT???

It's been since February trying to get the ITIN, resent in March, and now this.

What pisses me off the most is that it will take another 6-8 weeks to generate the ITIN, then another 6-8 weeks for my 2008 taxes to be filed.

4 MONTHS!!!!! added to my timeline.

Is it possible to send something to NVC explaining this situation?? Can I send the AOS package without having my taxes filed?? Need some major help!

Thanks.

Why did they reject your ITIN application, did they tell you why?

I took advice of some pple here at VJ and sent my W-7 application together with my 1040, with supporting documents, I figured that's all I need to do, but now I am not so sure:)

Also, if you filed for extension on your tax, and you must have, then you can send the proof of the extension to NVC and letter to explain that you are waiting on ITIN before you file taxes. Again, that's the advice I have been getting here in regards to ITIN and AOS ...

Sending an explanation and proof of extension would work. NVC will at least get to review the rest of the AOS package and would send you a RFE if they really wanted to see the tax returns/transcripts.

I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere on our appointment/interview letter that in any case you failed to submit the required documents to NVC, you will need to bring them during the interview at the Embassy.
