i filed mine in feb because i thought the wait would be six months. actually my husband and i were aiming for him to come here november 2009 because his master's program will be finished by then. so now im getting a little worried if we get approved by march or april...maybe june or july would be the perfect timing so we could have the interview done and everything in november...

Same here. All of a sudden I don't want to hear back from USCIS yet. I'm expecting to get a RFE re: our marriage certificate (my 2nd name is not listed). I want to get a chance to visit my husband in the Philippines in May, and while I'm there I can get our marriage certificate amended to add my second name. That way if we indeed got an RFE, I can resubmit our amended marriage certificate with my complete given name. It would cause a bit of delay, but it's something I can live with.

But for the rest of us, I'm hoping and praying that you get your NAO2 soon. I know how difficult it is to be separated with our spouses. Everyday is a struggle. :(

carlish are you filipina? and a nurse? =) i was a little worried too about my documents. one of the evidences of our marriage is my son's birth certificate. in the bottom it said signature of mother and they put my name with my husband's family name...but actually i have not changed my name yet. i kept my maiden name...my passport is still valid and all my papers and stuff are still in my maiden name. maybe when my husband comes here then i'll have a name change...

anyway if i get my NAO2 in march or april...can we delay the process so the interview will be in november? is there an expiration date on the NAO2 to file for NVC? i am worried now because our case is pretty straight forward...we have known each other for 5 years and married for two years in november 2009, plus we have a son together...i dont think USCIS will have to dig deep into...also my husband has been living in the philippines for 5 years now and most of his documents can be traced back to the philippines...i think USCIS looks more into the recent activity of 5 years ago...so i am hoping that him being "pakistani" does not come up...

Yes, I'm a Filipina, but not a nurse. :)

Why don't you try to get your son's birth certificate corrected while you're in Pinas this summer? So wouldn't have any problems getting your son when the time comes.

Someone corrects me if I'm wrong, but I think the NOA2 is valid for 4 months.

It's not very different at all in Pakistan either, on my wedding certificate they automatically put his address as mine....I mean admittedly I was staying there at the time....but that wasn't supposed to be my address...then they did the same thing with my affidavits for the bonafides...I had 2 and both showed my address as my husbands, which isn't true. They tried to add my husbands last name but thank god I had told them not to beforehand. Men are quite lead-headed! I mean they honestly think we automatically are willing to give up our background and heritage, just throw it away.....because supposedly we're just soooooo lucky to be married...like it's the biggest blessing...lol. I'm sure it is....to be honest it's the best being married to my husband but really..........I was alive before marrying him too, why should that all be thrown away and forgotten. I'm soooo glad my husband never asked me to take his name....in fact he's so used to my name since we were little....the teacher always calling it cause I (the little teachers pet that I was and am) would always have my hand up before everyone. He's too used to it...and loves it. :D:D

I don't think I will be submitting those affidavits any longer.........I feel they just might cause more trouble than good you know.

lol yea.....what could be better proof of your commitment to eachother than having a baby. ^_^. very true indeed.

hey...quick question. Do you know if a child born to a usc in any country (preferably pakistan) is automatically a usc? I remember reading that somewhere around here...???

would that child have dual nationality at birth then?
