After talking with my husband more here's the issue:

He lost his birth certificate. He went to the registry to get one but since he didn't have the registration number and they aren't computerized they would not search through 40+ years of certificates looking for his - don' t blame them. BUT what they did was generate a new one for him and the "authority" signed it with a date in the year husband was born. Husband didn't feel right submitting that one so he went to the courts to get an affidavit of lost birth certificate - which I have the original BUT he doesn't have the secondary support. His parents are both deceased and there are no other records. I didn't realize he was getting the affidavit otherwise I would have told him to have his sister write an affidavit of support. SO............................ what do I do?

OPTION 1: Send the affidavit and hope not to get an RFE

OPTION 2: Have his sister WAIT ANOTHER two or more weeks for it to get here.

OPTION 3: Send in copy of birth certificate with a note that original will be shown at interview and risk being found out that it's not the "REAL" original.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we are taking OPTION 1 except his sister is sending me the affidavit tomorrow so hopefully I will have it in hand IF we get an RFE so I will be able to send it right away. We both decided that presenting the birth certificate that was generated 3 weeks ago and backdated 42+ years ago was not a good option and could be view as being fraudlent.

I'll be mean - I spend $0 on long distance. Ya gotta love Verizon for having unlimited free long distance to Canada. Okay, YOU don't have to love them for that, but I do. Sorry, had to rub it in. :bonk:

On an unrelated note, what the heck's going on out there! This thread has been basically dead for about a week other than a few questions here and there. No approvals, no interviews, no nothing. It seems like all of our news has been bad whether it's RFEs or life related news. I think we need to perk it up a little around here somehow. :energy: Maybe we all need to get together and have a party.

What are the rest of you bringing, except good looks of course;)

I'm actually spending my day going through old CDs and VHS tapes (and some DVDs, although I've already gotten rid of most of those/) to bring over to my Aunt and Uncle's house for their yard sale on Saturday. This is quite the task! I hate getting rid of stuff! I much prefer collecting stuff!

Oh I love getting rid of stuff!!!! Don't get me wrong, I collect tons of sentimental useless s@#$%, but the feeling when I throw something out is priceless! Every time i clean house I manage to throw out numerous trash bags full of #######, and I wonder how do I always have so much to throw away???

I was in charge of procurement at work, and they soon learned that I order too much just so that I can clean out for next month and throw stuff away :))

When there is nothing to get rid off, I go through my fridge and at least throw away some food. I know, I know, there are a lot of hungry children in the world, but before you throw rocks at me let me say that I love food and I experiment with food a lot, and a lot of times I don't end up liking what I buy at all, so getting rid of those opened jars and packages of nasty stuff cleanses me.

Anyone in need of helper for their next yard sale, call me :)

hi all!

How is everyone doing? Just mailed AOS packet couple of days ago and will mail Ds-230 tomorrow.

I have a question for kevin and all others who got real RFE. When you got RFE, did NVC email you that Document Cover sheet that you had to mail abck with RFE documents and the reason for RFE?? or Did you have to wait for the snail mail???

Did anyone just got case completed?? Good luck to all!!

WhidBeyGirl, Thanks again for the reminder, I just updated my timeline!!!

A checklist letter will be sent via email. The checklist and bar-coded cover sheet need to be returned with the RFE package.

Things have been pretty busy for me in the last few days or so. I'm scheduled to leave for the Philippines next week, but I haven't even packed yet.

I guess I've been stressing over my husband's interview on June 8. Hopefully, the interview will be successful and I will be able to fly back into the US with him... finger crossed!

I know it's easier said than done, but try to enjoy this time. June 8th is just around the corner, and this is the time you and hubby have been waiting for for so long, beginning of a new chapter. Look how many people on this forum, myself included, are still months away from being at this stage in the process, cannot afford to see their SO right now... You will see your husband in a week, will be coming home with him shortly, never to be apart like this again. You are lucky Carlish, just don't forget that, ok? Don't stress about the interview, focus on how lucky you are to be with him soon! Now get to packing girl!
