carlish...i plan to visit my son and husband around june (praying very hard to GOD to allow this)...did you purchase tickets already? is it peak season in may/june or off - peak? where is yous spouse from in the philippines?

I already purchased a planet ticket. It cheaper to fly to the Philippines in May than in June or July. My husband is from Cagayan, but he's been staying at our province in Pampanga since we got married. How long are you planning to stay there? I'll only be there for 16 days.

Okay, I am a little confused... I'm still rich (chacks haven't been cashed) and got home from work to see 4 envelopes. I open the firt one and at the top it shows 1-797C, Notice of Action. Is this what I think it is?? is this my NOA1 that everyone is tasking about?? Also at the bottom of the document shows the California USCIS (is this a good thing)?

Not sure why your cheques wouldn't be cashed yet but the I-797 is the NOA 1

There should be a USCIS case # associated with each petition. I believe CSC starts with WAC . You can now register on the USCIS case status page and follow the status of you case. Don't forget to sign up for email updates!

California (CSC) had been moving much more quickly then VSC through the last part of 2008 but VSC (Vermont) has really picked up lately. The service station your case is sent to is determined by the petitoner's place of residence. So you have no control over that.

OMG!!! oH MY GOD!!! EKLONDON YOUR SO LUCKY! See I told you you'd be getting yours soon....and since my petition got delivered a day before you MY NOA1 SHOULD BE ON IT'S WAY NOW!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I'm so happy for you.....you have given me hope right when I was beginning to lose it!

by the way, the most probable reason for your check still not cashing is that sometimes when a transaction is made it doesn't show up till a later date. I use chase bank and charter one and this happens to me ALL THE TIME....call your bank and ask if this has you worried *shrugs*. I'm so happy for you!

OHHHH MY GOODNESS! Talk about "as we speak"...............My mom just came in to hand me my noa1 letter!!!!!!!! Can you believe it, just a few minutes ago I was congratulating eklondon and wondering when I was going to get mine.....and voila, like magic!!!!!!!!!!

wow! I got my noa1 only A WEEK AFTER MY PETITION WAS RECEIVED and it was sent to me only 3 days after that......1 week and 3 days....only 10 days total! That's faster than most people who posted here, and here I thought I was unlucky. .........not to sound mean though. Just saying.

Although I'm the happiest person alive right now.....I don't know what to do next. I've already signed up for updates and emails at the uscis site....already gotten together all of the necessary documents for nvc I can (except taxes, aos 1-864's, ds3032, and ds230, will take care of taxes and I-864 on or after march 7th....and don't know whether I can fill out ds3032 and ds230 now or later, and whether I can do it online...that would be great).

What to do with myself now...lol.

hey guys, so i guess this is about it for all of the filers for feb. let see whos the first to go out of all of us. any of you guys planning to file for the k3 I-129F along with this one?

i have been thinking about that lately...i dont know if i should also send the I 129f...

well....I129f is for k3 visa right? Which is more expensive.....but honestly. I don't think it's that much quicker as to bringing your boys home to you.....maybe to the most likeliness 2-3 weeks quicker...if at all. That is my guess, not depending on any uniqueness of the case, you know.

i have to find out if the US embassy in manila will issue my husbands IR-1/CR-1. i am not sure about this because my husband only holds a student visa in the philippines...i always tell myself i should call the embassy in manila but been so busy lately, studying, working...been so tired. im happy im off for this weekend but the embassy is closed!

oh man, i guess im the only one out of the bunch without an noa1 yet. hopefully it comes sat afternoon or else i have to wait til monday. keeping my fingers crossed...i dont think im gonna file a I-129F, a lot of member are saying that its a dead issue so im gonna follow their advice. congrats on your noa1

oh shoot, talk about bad timing. Well, you still have quite a bit of time to make sure.....though, I'm sure you know this better than I....you should definitely find out asap as to avoid having to wait extra extra long due to the I129f processing before you can move onto the big stuff(nvc).

I'm actually thinking about it too. Maybe I should now that I foresee something going wrong with my application (my 2nd name was omitted in our marriage certificate--something that I'm hoping to fix when I visit my husband in the Philippines this May). What do you think? But if I did file, I will need new set of passport photos as they are required to have been taken within 30 days before submitting the petition?

Anyway, congratulations to both eklondon and mumtaz!
