:help: :help: :help:

Alright my friends, the documents that the hubster sent me should be here by end of this week, I am getting ready to send in the AOS and IV packet.

Need your help with DS-230, please:

Question #43a. Have you ever applied for a Social Security Number (SSN)?

My husband never applied for one before, so for this question I should answer NO in order for him to get one now, correct?

But I am confused by this:

"Do you want the Social Security Administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card? (You must answer YES to question 33b. to receive a number and a card.)

So I am looking at the DS-230 form and there is no question 33b.

The only thing I see under 33 is this:

33. List below all educational institutions attended.

School and Location From/To (mm-yyyy) Course of Study Degree or Diploma

Languages spoken or read

Professional associations to which you belong

There is no B part here, nor do I see how this question has anything to do with social security card. Did they mean must answer YES to 43b and they put 33b by mistake?

That's the only thing that makes sense to me, but maybe I am missing something...

Thank you!

In the form that i filled the question 33a is if you have ever aplied for SSN and 33b is if you want a replacement and then without a number it says if you wanted the Social Security Administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card and it says you must answer yes to 33b

Do you want the archive?

I am looking at the form right now, what you are describing is question 43 on this form I am looking at in front of me. I am so confused right now :D

Yea, its a misprint. I did not even notice it when I filled and sent mine out. You should enter "YES" here.

best of prayers.

There is another misprint in the updated DS-230, too. On questions # 31a and 31b they are still asking of persons named in 14 and 19 who will accompany and follow you now or on a later date to the US.

On the updated? form they did not change the question to named in 14 and 29.

I'm going to use the old form just to avoid any RFE

Don't use the old form. It clearly states on the new edition that "PREVIOUS EDITIONS OBSOLETE" at the bottom of the form. I suggest speak to an operator and let them know about the typos.

Congrats all the brothas and sistas who are getting completions and progresses on their cases.

I have bad news though. I've been bugging the operators again for interviews...I spoke to three operators and they all said that I have to wait till 2nd week of June to get an interview scheduled, and nvc isnt scheduling an more June interviews. So, our interview will be in july some time. Thats way too far away :(

any shortcuts?

This is good news for those nearing completions...try to get your papers in asap so that you have completions by 2nd week of next month...so that you dont have to wait for an interview date. As far as I am concerned, I might have to wait till 2nd week of june to get an interview.

It's okay Remo. They will start scheduling interviews by first week of June. Our case was completed on May 6 and by May 8, they already assigned a June 8 interview for my hubby. It's more likely you will get an early July interview. :star:

Hey Guys,

Congratulations to all of you with case complete this week - fantastic!:dance::dance:

I think we won't be given an interview date until mid June either as we just missed the boat for this month. So hopefully that date will be in July.

Nevermind, it feels great to have got so far so quickly.

Carlish - good luck with the medical etc., it will all turn out just fine.

Take care everyone.

Thanks dvrjwh! We need all your prayers for the interview. Thank you.

Congrats Remo, Somber & Kevin!!!

Been MIA lately - too much stress going on at home.

Hopefully I will receive SO's PCC's and BC this week and be able to mail out the IV packet. I have the scanned copies and have already had the PCC that is in French translated - $80!!!!!!!!! I highly doubt it took her 2 hours to translate but she mentioned hiring my husband when he gets here to help out with the language camps she runs. Her theme this year for the French language camps is French speaking African countries. Maybe she'll even add Wolof and/or Yoruba language classes so he could teach those also.

OH BTW, have finally named the last baby goat. He has these cute lines that circle his eyes so he looks like he's wearing a mask so we made up a super hero name for him - El Bambino! So we have Valentino, Mochachino and El Bambino.

El Bambino - too cute! :P It totally sucks that you have so much going on at home, but I like to always think what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I know it's not overly comforting, but with all of the strength you should get from this stress, you'll probably turn into Wonder Woman. Hang in there girl. :luv:

I talked to an operator a few minutes ago and it's official - case completed! Yippee!! Honestly, besides the fact that I'm obviously thrilled that we're one step closer to getting my husband here, I think I'm almost as excited that this means I don't have to fill out any more paperwork, pay the post office more money, etc. Hallelujah! lol Most of the rest of the way, my husband gets to do all of the stuff (medical, etc.). Thank God.

Thanks so much! I read your reviews on both the medical and the interview with great interest and passed them along to my husband since he'll be the one truly doing those (I'll go to the interview though). Thanks a bunch for all of the help you've been OBX. Thanks to everyone else out there also. You've all been terrific! Now I just hope Montreal speeds it up a little - darn slow pokes.

My husband had his 1st day medical exam yesterday at St Luke's Medical Clinic in Manila. He was asked by the doctor if he drinks, smokes, takes illegal drugs, and if he has any body piercing and tattoos on his body. His blood was taken and he also had a chest xray. He will find out the results in the next couple of days.

Tomorrow is day 2 and it will be for his vaccinations.

Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been missing... but I am adjusting to motherhood (which means I am pretty much running on no sleep right now). But, all in all, things are going well. I miss my husband like crazy and could really use his help right now, but my mother has been amazing and helping out as much as she can.

Congrats to the case completions! I am so excited for everyone! And Carlish, don't worry about the medical (I know, easier said than done)... I am sure your husband will pass with flying colors. :star:

I have been calling the AVR everyday and it still says nothing about our case being complete... maybe I should call and talk to an operator? I got the log-in error a week ago.
