I got the NVC Case #

hi S&F how did u get your case number? i just called and they said they have no record of my file yet! why am i so unlucky!

i called them yesterday and the AVR was playing the message that they do not have any records of my case.

I called this morning and AVR gave me the case number and it was entered in the system on May 11th.

So maybe your case has been assigned and the AVR hasn't been updated yet? Try to talk to an operator?

ok thanks carlish, i have another question...how long is the nao2 good for? some say 6 months and ive tried posting a new thread about that here in visa journey. and i was thinking supposing someone doesnt proceed consistently with the nvc process, goes on vacation for like 3 months or so, will the nao2 from uscis still be valid?

in a nutshell: how long do they allow a pause in the nvc process?

It's definitely a year as carlish stated. I just got a checklist email today and it said it would be held for up to a year.

Thanks all for the thoughts and prayers. Life just keeps chuggin' along not ever givin me a rest. One of my other boys has a scheduled surgery in the morning (not even a big deal, just removing a few screws from his foot) so today we spent the day at the hospital for pre-op. Talked with my oldest son today and he basically feels like she ripped his heart from his chest, stomped on it and left him there with his son to pick up the pieces.

I can't get to the list tonight either as we have to be on the 5:30am ferry to go to Children's Hospital in the morning. Maybe tomorrow night.

Hang in there WhidbeyGirl. We're all keeping you in our thoughts and hoping for good things. I know your son won't want to hear it now, but time has an amazing way of healing things. I remember thinking my heart had been ripped out during my divorce and now here I am, happily married to a wonderful man. It all takes time. My best to your other son for his surgery in the morning.

Whidbey, so sorry to hear your family's having real hard time now. I'll pray for you and your children, also for your husband to get to USA ASAP to bring you some joy.

BTW, we finally received the appointment/interview letter from NVC earlier this evening. I guess it's really official. My husband is planning to do the medical exam sometimes next week.

Congrats to those who received their case numbers from NVC! I remember waiting for what felt like forever for ours to be assigned... after you get the case number, everything moves so quickly, so get ready!

It seems as though the online payment site has been down all day today, so I haven't been able to see if we can still log in. The AVR has no updates since they received the RFE checklist almost a week ago. I am still hoping for a case complete sometime this week... fingers crossed

I went to the doctor again today and they are going to induce Thursday night, so Sofia should be here sometime on Friday... it would be AMAZING to have both a "Case Complete" and a healthy baby girl by the weekend.

Evening all. Surgery went well, 3 screws removed from my sons left foot. Am paying the IV bill tonight. I figure things have been moving so fast for us lately the post office may decide to move quickly too so might be beneficial to have the bill paid .

It appears we lost a completed case, some sort of payment issue so sanj's case isn't complete, so back to just 3 complete.

Hey SomberCat, I know i'm quite late but internets hard to find these days for me. Welcome back, hope you enjoyed your trip...although official it was....you still got to spend time with your husband I'm sure!

and on my side.....just sent in my husbands ds230 packet on the 11th from here in paki through 3 day internationa express mail and it is the 13th....counting the day I sent it...which I will because my packet was picked up from the facility immediately after I gave it to them....it has been 3 days. I do have a tracking number as it was text messaged to my husbands cell phone but he took his phone with him to a very very long business meeting! So I'm stuck waiting till he gets back to check with the dhl site. I think I'll call and check the avr tonight too...who knows I may get lucky and they could be scanning and reviewing it already...lol. Probably not...but I can hope can't I?

Won't be sending in my aos package till a month or so.......my joint sponsor has VERY confusing financing and apparently it will take them a bit longer to get their tax info and financial docs corrected!!! Jeez! Ah well, what can I do about it, except to hope waiting for the aos packet doesnt cause any issues with the nvc and our case. *shrugs*.

Got our NVC case number! It was already loaded in the Automated Response system. No forms have been generated yet but the lady asked for our e-mail addresses and said the forms would be e-mailed to us shortly. Tried to get the INN but she said she can't give that out over the phone, I have to request it by e-mail.

thank you mumtaz! my husband and i are going to thailand in july when i go for vacation to the philippines! i am so excited for that! we never really had a real honeymoon...i just need to escape all this negativity i am living in right now. nothing is every good enough for people, why cant they just be happy for others? people just get so paranoid and jealous when the underdogs are starting to make it!

my husband told me that today my son said mama this morning...i dont know to who but he usually calls his father pa, maybe he just feels i will see him soon...
