Vernice and EtherealVocalist....how goes the wait on your side? You guys should have received your noa1's by now, it's been near 2 weeks for the both of you? Please let us know....it gives those of us who are right behind you some hope. :D

Hey SomberCat....did you send your packet in yet? Do let us know. :)

.....and Patel_83 and eklondon how's the wait treating you guys? Has your check cashed yet?

Come on people let's keep our lucky thread alive!!! ^_^

Yes, I mailed it in (USPS next day delivery) on the 23rd and it was rec'd today. It felt really stupid to mail it to Chicago since I left the post office, jumped in the car and drove to Chicago for business. Oh well. At least I know they have it. I also sent a money order so I doubt that I can track when they cash it, but when I get home tomorrow, I'm going to take a look at it and see if there's a way to find out.

8 days waiting...

I just called the USCIS hotline (1800-375-5283) and talked to a rep (press 1, then 2, then 2 again, then 3) and he told me that noa1's are usually received 30 days after the uscis gets a petition.....wow are the WAYYYY off! lol. Calling them is utterly useless guys.....I assume they'll just keep telling you to wait 30 days until you're so fedup you'll have no other choice.

anyways....

annie and chris, eklondon, vernice, dvrjwh, tiggi247, Patel_83, holliday, Betsy El Sum and bootslacky....................how's it going on your ends? Any luck with checks/mo's cashing or noa1's???

keep your time lines updated guys. :D

Good luck to you all!!!

our file has not been touched again since 2/13... I am freaking out about tax return, the more info I read the more confused I am what to do, and it is already end of February, I fear if I'll acomplish it in time.

I decided to celebrate small victories in the meantime, I finally got around changing my passport to reflect my new last name :D

That's awesome....I haven't even gotten around to actually "changing my name" yet and our 6 month anniversary is coming up soon.......now that's sad. Although, I am contemplating keeping it, my hubby doesn't have a problem with it as he is so used to it since kindergarten......lol.

and about taxes......why don't you just call the irs directly, I'm sure if you explain to them what it is that's confusing you they could help you figure out what to do and what not to and stuff.

Don't worry, you'll get a touch soon.....in fact, who knows, maybe they are looking at your file RIGHT NOW. You never know. Plus, half the time that they are actually working on your file....they don't even document it....I mean I've seen it where people have gone months without a single touch and become hopeless and the same day, without any warning they get their noa2 in the mail. It's all upto the person checking out your file whether they want to mention they checked it or not. Sometimes people can get updates or touches just because the person felt like putting it there. I mean, we don't even really know what a touch really can be......it could be anything really....and it could be nothing too...and whether or not people have gotten touches...I've seen them get approved! And this goes for everyone worrying about the lack of touches they've had.....and yes, that includes you taj. ;)

Good luck...don't worry, or you'll get those awful worry lines ^_^.

Nice! I'm not going to bother changing my name in my passport, I don't think. It's still valid for 4 1/2 years, so I don't want to get a new one just yet. I went today to change my name on my driver's license. It didn't go exactly as planned. I want to add my maiden name on as a middle name, because I like it, and I want to keep it in some way. Apparently I can't do that with my license. I had to just add my married name to my maiden name. I figure in a while (if I get around to it) when I'm used to my married name, I'll go back and just have it changed to only my married name.

Hey you know what....that is a really good idea. Why didn't I think of that. I think that's what I'd like to do....but the other way around......I would like to have my husbands name as my middle rather. I think it is very exotic and sounds really well with my name, but I love my family name and would like to keep it still....I hope I can actually do that.

Thanx for the idea Holliday ^_^
