this is for carlish: did your husband get local police clearances in all the places he lived after the age of 16? even if he lived there for less than 6 months...because it says: NOTE2: Police Certificate is required for any places which beneficiary has lived longer than twelve (12) months in any other country other than country of citizenship, after age of 16 on ling che and there is this one province where my husband lived for about 6 months in the philippines and we were wondering if he has to travel to that province to get a local police clearance? thank you...

My hubby got police clearances in all the addresses he listed in the DS-230 just to be safe. He's been living in his current address for only 5 months, and we got clearance from that local police station as well.

thank you carlish! my husband wont be too pleased about this, he hates the hot weather in the provinces...anyway thanks again!

Are you born in the Philippines? If you are, your husband will need a copy of your birth certificate from NSO. Make sure to have that during his interview at the US Embassy in Manila.

nope dear, born in the u.s. but grew up in the philippines, thank you for the info though.

my husband went to get the local police clearance from current city in which he is living in, and it is valid for 6 months...surprised about that. anyway it has two parts...one whole paper that can be cut into two so that he can have the other part as his personal copy but i did tell him to get 2 copies though...hope he will not have a hard time in the NBI...also on the local police clearance it says: NO CRIMINAL/DEREGaTORY file (is that what we want? =)

...Our problem is his police clearance from pakistan. he only has one copy and he has asked his father to get another original copy otherwise if not just an attested one from pakistan (this one we will send to NVC) and keep the original one for the interview...

just tried again today for the 3rd time...no case number yet

Yup, that's the local police clearance he wanted. Make sure the NBI clearance will say the same thing (NO CRIMINAL/DERAGATORY RECORD).

Goodluck on getting another copy of the PCC from Pakistan.

You better call that da*n operator 7am today and see when you will get an interview. Seeing so many people get approved so quickly and get interview dates soon gives me such a sense of hope...

to carlish or to anyone willing to help: for the local police clearance, my husband got one copy and they said he can apply for another one when the interview at the embassy comes...do they really do this? also for the NBI, they said they can give only one copy that is good for one year, he will pick it up on may 18...now i am wondering where can we get it certified, the NBI police clearance? also my husband was able to get another birth certificate and police clearance from pakistan but i was just wondering where we can have it certified in case we need more copies? is it the same as notarized? will they accept this in NVC? we tried to ask the pakistan embassy in the philippines if they can certify a copy of the original police clearance from pakistan but they said they could not do it. anyone have any idea?
