I can only hope that I hear something next month for a November interview.

This really sucks :crying:

I feel for ya. I did not receive an interview for October, so I will be here by myself and my wife and kids are getting ... well, on the edge is an understatement. They will be missing my BDay, and I'm not sure If I can make it back for my youngest daughters. In the meantime I have planned to move them here and start school if I don't make November Interviews. 3 weeks of waiting to see if the fit us in for November. We figured that if we don't make November we will not make December as they will probably be shut down for at least a couple weeks in December. Goo luck to those who have their interviews scheduled and congrats to those who made it through.

I would have not been able to get this far without the help of visajourney and it members; 'You'!

I am hoping with everything that I have, that I get a November interview.

It is not fair to keep us waiting like this!

BLESS GOD ALMIGHTY even though we had TWO MAJOR descreptancies we were APPROVED!!!! GOD IS SO AWESOME!!! Husband told interviewer wrong internet site where we met and wrong date of meeting the first time but we were able to explain and the woman understood!!! NOT only that I showed her I have already purchased the plane tickets and she said, "We advise not to purchase tickets until visa is in hand." I said, "Yes I understand, but if you look there on his ticket I got a ticket for $140, I HAD to buy it!!" She said, "$140??? Tell me how to do that!" I told her I used airline miles but had to purchase 3 weeks in advance. She asked if I could change it, I said "I can but it wIll cost." She said we don't usually give out visas until Tuesday afternoon and the ticket is for Tuesday morning. I said, "yes I know we bought it being positive we would receive the visa." She said, "Ok I'll put it through now and you will have it Monday" GLORY BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY WE ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

WE ARE ON ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW. MY HUSBAND GOT THE WHITE SLIP. I AM SO SAD AND BEEN CRYING ALL NIGHT. TODAY WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND EVEN THE CONSUL KNEW IT. THEY DIDNT EVEN LOOK AT MY HUSBANDS DOCUMENTS, ALL THOSE THINGS I ASKED HIM TO BRING. THEY JUST WANTED TO SEE PHOTOS OF US. EVEN THE POLICE CLEARANCE THAT WE WERE REQUIRED TO BRING AGAIN TO THE INTERVIEW (THE PAKISTAN POLICE CLEARANCE). HE SAID OUR DOCUMENTS WERE FINE AND THEY WERE COMPLETE.

HE SAID THAT THEY HAVE TO CHECK FURTHER SOME THINGS WHEN HE ASKED MY HUSBAND HOW OFTEN HE GOES BACK HOME TO PAKISTAN ( MY HUSBAND SAID EVERY YEAR FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS DURING SUMMER VACATION WHEN I AM OFF SCHOOL TO VISIT MY PARENTS). I WISH I WAS THERE AT THE INTERVIEW. BECAUSE WHEN HE SAID ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS ARE FINE THEN I WOULD HAVE SAID THEN WHERE THE HELL IS OUR VISA?

THE ONLY THING THAT IS OPTIMISTIC IN OUR CASE IS THAT THEY KEPT MY HUSBANDS PASSPORT AND THAT THEY TOOK HIS NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER SO THAT THEY CAN CONTACT HIM WHEN THEY SEND THE VISA.

HOW LONG IS THIS AND WHAT SHALL I DO NOW?

Congrats Whidbey! :D

And Taj....don't worry too much girl....you say they took his passport right? Well, the embassy never does that unless they feel that they will need it to stamp the visa on soon. They can't take it from him for too long because of the fact that he could need it at any time for traveling or other things....and the embassy only takes the passport if they are sure it will only be a small wait until the visa is stamped.Just stay calm and don't worry, inshallah everything will be fine and fast!

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear about the AP. But think positive. The fact that they didn't ask for additional documents is a good sign. And knowing that your hubby travels often to Pakistan and may need to have his passport to do so means that they will not keep his passport for a long time. Just give them time to do what they need to do. I'm sure your hubby will get his passport with his visa soon.

Thank you mumtaz...my husband actually had a fun time at the interview. he said there are worst cases than ours like people having missing documents and missing medicals and couple with american husbands practically screaming at the consuls and prescreeners having to come back after 2 months for another interview. he was very amused by that. the only thing they looked at from his documents are our chat logs and our pictures thats it. not even my papers from work, my pay stubs, or anything from me. and i really can't believe they didnt ask my husband for his PCC...we had to pay $100 for his friend to get a new copy from pakistan. the consul said that the one we sent to NVC was sufficient. i am dragging myself to get off my bed and go to my afternoon shift at work. im trying not to be in a bad mood. i cried and cried so much last night, i felt so alone. oh well...my husband though is being so optimistic and was so innocent. he did a good job though at the interview, answered everything perfect.

Sorry Taj for the AP, but as Mumtaz said the good thing is they kept his passport. And they wouldn't if they were not planning on stamping a visa, and keeping it for too long as he'd need it for traveling possibly. So relax and wait patiently. As about the PPC, I never went to renew mine, it has expired 2 months before the interview, the council looked at it and didn't say anything (I guess because I sent a new one to NVC that was still valid and it was in my documents). Keep being optimistic as your hubby is and soon things will be alright

Good luck girly and Happy belated b-day :jest: :jest: :jest::luv:

VISA IN HAND!!!!!!!!!!

They nearly didn't give it us, but there was NO WAY in H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS I was going to leave the embassy without it. First they told us they didn't have it, then they said we didn't have an appointment, then they told me to leave and call the consulars office, then they said the woman who puts the packet together wasn't there. With each reason they gave us I stood ABSOLUTELY firm and told I was NOT leaving without the visa. My husband said a couple times, maybe we should be patient and just come back tomorrow, I told him NO, they gave us an appointment for today at this time and I am NOT leaving. God gave me the boldness to stand my ground and refuse to leave. Finally they allowed us into the embassy and within 2 minutes we had the visa in our hands! Not only that the cover page on the envelope stated that the package was complete on 24 Sept at 4:30pm. I can't believe they tried to lie to me and tell me it wasn't ready!!!! I think I was a bit scary to the woman at the window on the outside of the embassy, she kept fumbling and calling different people LOL!!!!

AWESOME! Congratulations!! Did I read correctly that you guys are flying home tomorrow? Have a safe trip and hopefully your POE experience will be uneventful! :)

As for me... I received my welcome letter last Wednesday. And then I received another one on Friday, aaaaand another one on Saturday. Heh. So yeah. I've been welcomed three times! And today I received my green card! Yay I don't have to carry my passport around anymore! And I received my social security "card" today too. Card is in quotes because that damn thing is a piece of paper... not a card! Haha. It's so.... um... papery and fragile-looking! I was expecting something more like my SIN card in Canada, you know, like an actual durable plastic card. Ah well., I'm not complaining, it was just a surprise. It's cool to have it. My next step will be going to get my Oklahoma driver's license.
