Awesome news W!!! The fact that they scheduled the interview so soon gives hope that everything will be resolved quickly, they now seem to be cooperative and that is awesome news!

Mumtaz, congrats on completion, I pray that the bad AP wave will be over by the time your interview is scheduled.

Feisal, sorry to hear about AP but you have got the right attitude, best of luck to you!

I am packing today, leaving tomorrow morning :( Husband is fasting today since Ramadan started today, so I cannot even get some lovin´ to get me out of my misery :))

I know that is too much info :) but heck we are family here :))

Whidbey, did your husband get the visa yet? after the first interview, was he issued a blue slip or pink? in my country, when you passed the interview, you get a pink slip notifying when to come back to pick up the visa. blue slip means you have to summit additional evidence. i dont know if its the same for every country.

Welcome home kevin!

No we were put on AP - no pink, no blue, just told they were doing more research. But we have 2nd interview scheduled for Sept 24.

So I have a stat question for you - what day did your sweetie have Visa in Hand?

V - so sorry about the lack of lovin!! I just counted and discovered that 5 of the 7 days I'm going to be with hubby won't work for my body and gettin' lovin

I attempted to force the embassy into saying we would be getting visa when I was there by saying I need to book his airline ticket since I get a discount when I book them together. BUT they didn't fall into that snare trap :(. Oh well, I'm confident we will get it but I'll wait until it's in hand before booking his flight.

:wow:

hubby and friends just informed me that mr.president is visiting our little lovely island Martha's Vineyard for a week of vacation. I'm so sad I'm going to miss it... on another hand no wonder it's getting so expensive there - Clinton and Ted Kennedy come to rest every summer, other stars live there at some time of the year, and every summer is crazy like hell http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/24463.html

plus, i missed the fireworks we have by tradition every august and the illumination night :(

Whoa!! That is EXCELLENT news, particularly from my own selfish standpoint. We are very afraid that we won't get it in time to move next weekend, so since you have yours, I'd think ours isn't far behind... unless they forget about us like they did with the interview. lol At least I'm starting to laugh about it now.

*** so we need to show my husband's police clearance from pakistan. i dont understand this part because we already sent an original copy of the pakistan police clearance so why does he need to bring another one? can he bring just a copy?

All pakistani's have to bring a fresh police certificate from Paki for interview. The nvc told us the same thing. The reason is that all pakistani police certificates have a 30 to 90 day validation, and usually tend to expire by the time of interview or during their further research after the interview before the visa is printed out. The embassy and the nvc require it just in case. So you will have to bring new original police certificates...whether yours are expiring or not....it is a requirement that must be fulfilled. I understand how it must be an extra pain for the two of you though seeing as neither you nor your husband are in Pakistan at this time and it most likely will take you guys some extra time to get those in the Philippines from Pakistan....but that's nvc for ya.....in fact this entire process is a huge pain in the butt, is it not?
