I don't think it really matters, most stations have budgeted to shut off their analog transmitters on the 17th and probably will anyway.

This is a deadline when broadcasters have to make the switch. For some, its already done.

We have a TV here at work with one of those converters. I must say the picture is very nice.

Yeah i concur,

It's not just the weight of buying the converter and doing it just because the government commands you to but on the other hand the reception is better and the quality of picture is 2 times clearer.

Besides, I didn't know we had weather channels in the digital side! Weather 24/7 baby! :P

Well maybe if you live 2 inches away from the transmitting antenna, but try only 30 miles in hilly country. Thought technical problems that have been known for years with UHF transmission would be reexamined, but apparently the key reason is that not many of those 40 buck coupons weren't applied for.

February is kind of a dumb month anyway, when you have four feet of snow on your roof to try to install a new antenna.

What is a couple month delay going to do? The people that have to buy converters will still have to buy them. If they haven't saved the $40 to get one, within a whole year of preachings that the switch is coming, then tough luck.

One of the things that will pizz me off about the transition is that we have CBS on a radio station here - 87.7 and it will go off the air. :crying: I love to listen to it in the car - news, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy.

Ban tv, it corrupts the mind.

We need TV to keep our minds of problems like the economy or erosion of the Bill of Rights.
