the instructions state that you DO NOT need to have it signed in front of a notory public.

editting to say that i have read some posters say that the consulate asked it to be notorized..hmmm email your consulate and ask. i bothered Amman with little questions like that all along the way..they were always super helpful

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Many and maybe all Consulate's websites are out of date on this subject. Some still say to notarize the I-864 and that hasn't been needed for three years.

Email them if you want but the instructions that come with the form are quite clear and direct. You're likely to get a reply from a Consular staff member who hasn't seen the new form or instructions.

Our i-134 had to be notarized

Looking at your timeline you would have submitted the I-134 before Oct. The pre-Oct form did need to be notarized. But in Oct there is a new form.
