Hello,

I would like to get some advice on our situation here. Our daughter entered the United States eight months after her mother entered. Her mother has already received her permanent resident card. Now, we are approaching ninety days that her daughter has entered the United States. Is her alien number the same as her mother's? We were not given an alien number at her port of entry, but the officer asked for her mother's number.

Second, do I pay the higher amount ($930, not $600) because her mother's application has already been submitted and approved? She came in on a K-2 follow on visa but was on the original petition.

Finally, our financial situation is a bit difficult at the moment, would it be bad if we were a couple of weeks late in filing? (a couple weeks after the 90th day of entry).

Whether she was listed on the I-129F petition is meaningless in this situation. You need to pay the higher fee because it is not a concurrent I-485 filing

YMMV
