I have just applied for the SSN and card, and the lady told me I could come back tomorrow to pick up a copy of the number, and then my card will be send in the mail.

I'm trying to get my D.L. asap and the lady from the driver license branch to me the receipt of SSN is enough, as long as it shows my name and ssn.

So my question is for those who went to pick up their number (before they had their card), did it mention your name as well, or only the number?

My timeline:

11-20-2008: AOS (I-485 & I-130) Package sent.

11-24-2008: Package received at 1.36pm and signed by JCHYBA.

12-04-2008: AOS Check was cashed!

12-05-2008: I-130 Money Order was cashed!

12-08-2008: Received my 3 NOA's and letter for biometrics

12-19-2008: Received RFE and another letter for biometrics

12-22-2008: Sent response to RFE back

12-26-2008: Biometrics appointment! -canceled due to holidays-

01-02-2009: Response to RFE received and case is resumed

01-13-2009: Second biometrics appointment - DONE YAY!

01-26-2009: APPROVAL of EAD!!!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

02-04-2009: Received EAD card in mail and applied for SSN - Picked up SSN day after!

02-06-2009: Passed written test, got driver's permit!

02-10-2009: Received my SSC

03-20-2009: Interview! - RFE

04-14-2009: Brought the requested document to the immigration office.

05-02-2009: Received our 3rd RFE.

05-11-2009: Brought the requested document to the immigration office.

05-27-2009: Received green card YAY Thank you God

04-04-2011: Sent in I-751 Removal of conditions

07-08-2011: Approved!

07-14-2011: Received Permanent Resident Card! WHOOOOO HOOOO we are done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you GOD!

Let's ask Carme & Aldo with this because he went to SSN and picked up his number...may be he will tell you!

You are lucky - in my state, they need to actually see the card and not the receipt. If no-one responds, at least you will find out tomorrow!

N-400 Journey

June 9th 2012 - Application sent

June 14th 2012 - NOA sent

June 28th - Biometrics letter sent -- July 26th Appointment date

July 12th 2012 - Early Biometrics/Walk-in

August ( ) - Interview letter received -- September 14th Interview date

September 14th 2012 - Interview! Oath date in hand, September 20th @ noon!

you can go back to your ssn office and they would gladly print out your ssn...

Im not sure how long you have to wait tho... i went after a week...

i got my ssn later on the same day that picked up the print out.. LOL

01-16-09......EAD touched

01-19-09......AP touched

01-21-09......EAD touched again

01-26-09......EAD and AP received on the mail!!

01-27-09......Applied for SSN

02-03-09......SSN Received

02-24-09......Interview at 12:00 pm in San Diego !! APPROVED!!

02-28-09......Welcome Letter Received & approval for I-130!!

03-09-09.......Green card in the mail!

I applied for my SSN on January 30, 2009

On Tuesday February 03, 2009 I went back to get a print out with my SSN on it

the print out has this written on it:

Social Security Administration

Social Security Number Printout

Our records indicate that social security numer 123-45-6789

is assigned to Jane Doe

Your Social Security card is the official verification of your social security

number. this printout does not verify your right to work in the united states.

protect your social security number from fraud and identity theft. be careful

who you share your number with.

(and is signed by the person.)

Received NOA 11-13-08

Biometrics Appt. 12-09-08 - Completed -

Jan 03 2009 Received Letter for Interview: Feb. 05 Yaaayyy!!
