Hi South Asia forum! I don't see any off topic posts here normally but I wanted to ask any of you if you could help.

I wanted to know if there were any ashrams or spas anywhere in India to stay at to relax, do yoga, and lose weight? Something along those lines... Somewhere you could stay at least 30-90 days?

Any advice is appreciated! :)

Try this. They will preach basics of Buddhism, so if that's get into your way of existing beliefs, you may want to reconsider, but you can always ignore the religious aspects and keep the brilliant meditation and breathing exercises they teach. Food is very simple (limited spicies), vegeterian and very healthy. I know someone who dropped 10 lbs in this camp. This particular location in India is beautiful, but there are several others in many countries. Check out their website for more details.

And it's free.

Check out their other locations in India (or anywhere in the world). Many of them have a 30-45 day course. There is no catch here trust me. Many many big time politicians, CEOs and celebreties are take active part in supporting this org. Obviously, you will not see any publicity around this.

I have never been involved in Goenka's organization but when I first studied Buddhism I used to sit once a week with a local Insight Meditation group which is basically the same thing - my experience is that they are very open, friendly and don't stress the 'religious' stuff, just meditation - also they don't ask you to follow a guru or force you to make donations. Also you didn't have to sit on the floor if it was uncomfortable, sitting in a chair was OK.
