Letter from employer (Affidavit of Support)

My mother requested a letter from her employer and they said everything that she works there and has been employed since ______ but they fail to mention her annual income....

I told my mother that I need one with her annual income but she said since we are attaching her w2 form that its not neccessary because it is on the w2...is this an issue or is she right?

If it was my choice I would get the letter fixed but its hard to lecture your mom, let alone give her orders/requests...

You want a tax return or tax transcript. The W2 is just one part of a tax return. Your mother is right, provide it's a complete tax return or transcript.

You want a tax return or tax transcript. The W2 is just one part of a tax return. Your mother is right, provide it's a complete tax return or transcript.

I am sorry to ask a dumb question but since I never had to file taxes yet, I dont really know what a tax return/transcript is or what it looks like.... Is that the form that you fill out to the IRS ? Please if you can elaborate so I can know whether she gave me the right papers...

You could describe what you have in addition to the W2 but there should be a 1040 form stating the total income, tax due etc.

Your mom will know what makes up her ost current tax return. That's what makes mom's great. They have ALL the answers.
