I'm still waiting to see what he does now - Carter has done a lot of good work since he left office. Of course all that humanitarian stuff is bullcrap to the wingnuts, but I think that tells you about the tenor of the guy no matter what you make of his presidency. Bush will live out the rest of his days in quiet obscurity is my guess.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

bush crawled off to texas..the worst president in the history of this country////made Jimmy Carter..look like Lincoln...

Bush & Cheney were awesome... just ask the right wingers here.

Come, come, it is time to put the dark, evil past behind us. Let us join hands, sing kumbaya, and walk into a new promise of tomorrow!

Yea and I'm sure the former coach of the Detriot Lions had plenty of experience too... results are what actually count & in both cases (Lions & the Bush administration) they crashed & burned.

Obama is a rookie turned starting quarterback. So far we gotten to the coin toss and team Obama is already dumping Gatorade on him.

I expect they'll either retire on their investments and/or established personal/family fortunes - with some carved out role in corporate boardrooms.

You do realize that GOP members of the senate are not nearly so full of bile and vitriol as you wingnuts? When you hear interviews with them, they are incredibly civil and actually want the Obama presidency to succeed. They may not want every i dotted and every t crossed with a Democratic bent, but they don't want the US to fail along with the current administration :)

I just can't see Bush playing any kind of serious roll in business. I think he believes he has earned a happy retirement. That's fine, I don't have a problem with him disappearing off the political/business map but I think it tells us what kind of a person he is, a middle of the road, affable no one.

I despised the Bush administration and what they stood for - but at no point did I want the entire country to go down the crapper as some sort of "just desserts" for their being elected.

Hoping that your country fails.... what a weird attitude...

What it does indicate of course is that a lot of people put political ideology before pragmatic political solutions.

Not a serious role - no. But his family's business interests are well-established.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

He's not on the roster this year except if you watch MSNBC nightly.

I like Concoleza Rice...

I can't respect any politician who stayed in cabinet office when the leadership was pushing that reprehensible Iraq war.

Same with the UK Govt - Tony Blair lost all pretense of credibility for not standing with key members of his cabinet who had the gumption to resign in protest.

Hell - even in the dirty days of the Thatcher years, people did resign for ethical reasons.

Now we have the likes of Peter Mandelson continually popping up like a ####### that won't flush.

Well there are two flavors of Republicans... the Cheney, Limbaugh, Coulter types that hate Democrats simply because they are Democrats & the Republicans that disagree with Democrats on many issues but have a genuine desire to compromise in the best interests of our country. Unfortunately a lot of posters on VJ fall into the first group & that's why you see a lot of propaganda, hatred & rhetoric.
