i am so confused. if i entered the us with a k1 visa, i only need to do the vaccination section of the i693, which just means transcribing from my vaccination worksheet from my previous medical exam. right? so where does the skin test come in? i don't think i had that done during my medical exam in the philippines. do i have to redo my medical exam again? or could i just get a skin test and fill up just that part in the I693?

and by the way, i've already submitted my aos application because i read about these rules a little too late. so basically i'm doing this i693 in the case i get an rfe, which i hope i never get.

When you mention the skin test, do you mean the TB test? You might have had the TB test done by a chest x-ray rather than by a skin ####### test...

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

If you entered with K1 visa, you need to go to a civil surgeon and let him transcribe you vaccination data to I-693 form. You dont need to redo medical exam, just tell them that you have done this in your country. No TB skin test needed. But, they might look at your vaccination record and may give you additional vaccination shots. and that's it. :star:

I have heard some of K1 AOS filers just attached their vaccination record on their I693 and they have no idea about that civil surgeon thing. They did not receive any RFE yet they received Green card. hope you'll be one of them too.

The TB skin test is written as a requirement (even if you had a chest x-ray) if your medical was after June 1, 2008.

Reference: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

You would get one from your doctor, a public health clinic, or a Civil Surgeon depending on who does them in your area. The Civil Surgeon would have to note on the I-693 the results of your skin test. It is in Part 2, number 2. It's not an immunization. It's a test much like a test for HIV, AIDS, or Syphilis.

People used to get by with only the immunization record and no I-693. As people with summer medicals are beginning to reach adjudication for AOS, a few reports of problems with the I-693 or missing TB skin test are beginning to show up. Since every local office would have to be up to date on the rules change, I supposed some read their memo, and others didn't. So some notice and some just overlook it.

We did not do an I-693 and have been waiting on a RFE. AP and EAD were approved, but I think the green card application is still sitting in a storeroom and somebody will eventually notice the lack of TST or I-693 when the file hits a real person's desk.

Just a little update~~

A VJ friend of mine from the K1 days just got her greencard in the mail. No TB skin test. No I-693, but had all her shots in Belgium. K1 medical was after June 1 deadline. Transferred to CSC. No RFE for medical.

So....somebody at CSC hasn't been paying attention to the new rule book. Maybe there's hope for us still, but I won't bet on it.

Here's one that did get noticed for no skin test http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176591

When getting the medical for K1 visa, is a hiv/aids test and syphilis test required?

If the k1 visa holder had their medical test done overseas and had the tb skin test done, would they be required to do the aid/hiv & syphilis shot in the U.S. or can they just get the civil surgeon to transcribe the information onto the i-693 (page 1,2, & 5)??

Anyone go thru this?

i think if you had those shots during your k1 medical you can just transcribe the information to the i693. based on what's i've read so far, it's the tb test that's required for aos.
