I shared this story with a friend of mine and they said, "If I was out on the reservation I've got Indian Ways to make him die and it won't be fast."

My heart grieves for the women and children in this mena region. They treat the female less than human. Like cattle with child genital mutilations. When a Father sells one of his 10 year old daughters for $250 dollars to a man that beats and rapes her for two months straight and then the father and ex-husband only spend 10 days in jail for their crimes that is horrifying and worrisome to say the least. And at the sign of any trouble she would be killed for marring the family name and honor if it weren't for her fame protecting her now.

Olivia, somehow I think you now have a basis for future documentaries. With this being such a profound and moving topic, why don't you do a documentary on the practice of child marriage in MENA countries? You could probably get funded by HBO.

Awesome idea!!

This was sad and I have a daughter whom just turned 11. I look at her and think she has no idea of sex and such. She is so innocent. She still thinks that the man feeds a woman a seed...like a pumpkin seed and she gets pregnant. LOL...seriously she confirmed it again the other day when her brother asked her how Malek was made. She saw this on the Cosby rerun.

This little girl is so brave and I am so thankful that she had people to help her out and get her out of that situation. Its sad when money becomes what is important in people's lives. I asked my husband once what his thoughts were on a good age to get married and he is MENA as you know...he said well I think you made a mistake when you married at 18 to your first husband...you were still a kid. He said after college is good for me and our kids. I should say I agree....

Thank you for sharing Olivia....it was very educating.

Absolutely sick. I remember hearing this story in the past months. She's certainly a brave 10yr old. She had to face adult life instead of playing with other girls.

I'd stick the father in one of our jails, with Bubba whose been in solitary confinement for 10yrs and hasn't seen a woman. Let Bubba have his way with him, and tell him not to drop the soap.

A woman is like a tea bag: she does not know how strong she is until she is in hot water.
