Can somebody tell me here what do I need to do? I'm grateful that my EAD was approved today and card production was ordered. Today, I just got a phone call from one company that wants to conduct a job interview with me tomorrow @ 10:30 am.....I printed an email from CRIS about my EAD approval and I would like to bring it with me tomorrow. Do you think, there's a possibility that they can hold the position for me if I get hired? Can I start working even I don't have an EAD with my hand and tell them to pay me later after I applied for SSN? What is going to happen if this will be asked during our interview date? This will create a problem at all? If I get hired, I would like to convince that company to hold that position until my AOS interview ( Feb 11). Any suggestions will be so much appreciated!!! Thanks...

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Why would you ask them to keep the job for you until you have your Greencard. You have been approved for EAD and it will be with you within 2 weeks. once you have a EAD you can legally start work, You can apply for your SSN as soon as you get the EAD but you dont need the actual number to start work. Just give the employer a copy of the letter showing you have applied for SSN and then when it comes you just update the employer with the number. Dont see why you would want to wait for your greencard, because once that comes then the EAD is void, so what was the point of getting one.

The OP didn't mention the greencard. They mentioned waiting for the physical EAD, and using the printed copy in the mean time.

To the OP sorry I don't know first hand the answer. Anecdotally others on the forum mention the start date on the EAD is the application date. You may need to wait for someone with more information to post.

Well Kinda sorta did mention the greencard... What do you think the AOS interview is? She would possibly have the ability to get the I-551 stamp (temporary greencard) if approved at the AOS (greencard) interview.

YMMV

The EAD is good for a year. With an EAD and social security card you can work
