W2 vs. tax transcripts

Hi everyone, need your responses ASAP. Do I need to bring tax transcripts AND W2s for my interview or either will do? I have the W2s ready. Just making sure I am not missing anything.

I-130 for Parents (Mom and Dad)

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

N400:
4.26.2013: Mailed N400 Packet

5.21.2013: Biometrics

7.18.2013: Testing and Interview

9.25.2013: Oath Ceremony

If you are the petitioner, , you can do it either way from what I understand:

1 the transcripts of your return(s)

2 a copy of the entire return(s) which must include the W2's and any other documents sent in with the returns.

If you are the beneficiary, I don't know what is required.

W2 is what you need it. All they want is the verification of the income of your fiancee and that papers tells how much is his income for the whole year. Good luck.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Ok here's the deal guys. My fiance is going to send me W2s of 2005,2006 and 2007 and 2008. Are these enough? Or do we have to request transcripts and 1040 for 2008 along with these? Thanks!

Good to know, I got both my W2 for this year and for 06 and 07 aaannnnddd the tax transcripts also :lol:

I sent W2's for '05, '06 and '07 as well as IRS transcripts for those years.

I also sent check stubs for the past 6 weeks and a letter from my boss telling my job title, income and employment status.

I have not gotten all my paperwork for 2008 yet so I did not include any of those forms.

The transcripts take 10 business days and I so wanna kick my fiance for not getting this sorted out before now.

You can call the IRS on the phone and they will fax them to you. Takes about 15 minutes. This is what I did.

After faxing them the IRS will also mail them to you. I got mine in about 3 days.
