Hi, I have a stupid question.... My wife has a CR1 interview in Ankara in August. After the interview, if everything goes perfect, is that it? Will she be getting her papers to enter the US?

I should clarify.... I am a US citizen, living in Turkey, so we are filing everything through Ankara. Submitted all forms at the end of May, received interview conformation about 5 days later. All the paperwork has been submitted, however we were told to bring some specific supporting documentation to the interview. We have been married for over a year, and had a baby boy here in Turkey a few months ago, who is US/Turk nationality.

Thanks in Advance......

Wish I could help. My fiancee is getting the K-1 through Ankara. Her interview is in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty well-versed on the K-1, but not nessesarily your case. What I CAN suggest is that you e-mail the Ankara Embassy with any questions you may have. They are pretty prompt with there responses and you can ask a series of follow-up questions to your original thread. Good luck!!!

Hi bryanizmir,

Make sure that you take all of your W2's for 2005 and a copy of the I-864 or if you have a co-sponsor make sure you bring their originals. If all goes well with the interview your wife will have her visa mailed to her in 2-3 days. If the security checks are not completed or documents are missing they will give her form OF-194. You will then have to come back when the check is complete. You can check the status of the security checks here:

http://ankara.usembassy.gov/immigrant_security.html

:) Usually they try to get the checks done prior to the interview. And women seem to go through with less problems then men :) their backgrounds checks usually come through faster too!

Keep me posted!! Good luck!!

Hmmmm.......don`t know about that ``prompt`` part regarding emailing them. Maybe you`ve just been more fortunate than I have. Whenever I have emailed Ankara, they take forever to get back to you, and that is IF they actually DO get back to you. (several times..they haven`t)

But since he is Actually in Turkey now....I`d just call them (you have the link from the previous response which gives you the Embassy website and you can find the phone numbers there and the times you can call).

The Embassy has been pretty helpful when I`ve called to ask them questions. If I were you....that is what I would do so that you could get a definitive answer to this question. I am sure they have the answer there.

The phone is often busy, though......so be persistant and keep calling until someone responds. There is only like a 90 minute window....where they will actually answer questions.

Hi,

I have a question regarding the interview. My wife has an interview on August 5, 08. Our NVC paper status shows that they have the original birth certificate (nufus kayit ornegi) and Original Police Records, and they were translated into English.

My question is, do we need to get these documents with translations again for the interview?? All other required documents checked out as completed on the letter we recieved from the NVC.
