Hi all, I am preparing the materials to prove the bona fide marriage. My wife and I have been married for 4 years. I have been filing joint taxes after we were married. (She lives in Canada and I live in the US)

1) How much materials do we need to send to prove that our marriage is bona fide?

2) What's the usual thing to send given that we don't live together?

3) Do I need to send email logs or chat logs I had with my wife over the years?

Those are done in foreign language -- I can translate them but not sure if they need to be certified? Is this necessary?

4) Also, do I need to send these things spanning the time we were married til now? Or will recent materials suffice?

Thanks!

I sent about 20 pictures and a letter from my bank with every bank wire that i sent. other than that i just sent the required documents along with the I-130. anything else you want to show will be shown at the consulate, so you will not need to translate it if you are going to the consulate in your home country. keep the chat logs, they will be useful at your interview. I would take everything spanning the time before and during your marriage to the interview. hope this helps

Send a copy of your marriage certificate. Save your bona fide evidence for the interview. If you have a joint bank account, include a statement or two if you want but really it's not needed with the petition. You're probably reading a list of things headed with the words "in addition to the required...." meaning "not required".
