Don't let them get away with it Steven.

I'm confident I'll get the credited for the unauthorized charges. It's just scary to see it happen to feel like we always got to be on the look out for such things.

:thimbs:

They advertise on Sirius, therefor the y must be a scam. No joke, every other commercial on there is from some shady a$$ company. One night I was listening to the CNN channel and they were doing a segment on scams. As soon as there was a break the scam advertisements started.

I work for a bank, there has been a HUUUGE compromise through an unknown merchant(s) that got hacked. Of course visa likes to protect itself by not announcing this until months later than the fact; and basically merchants have free reign on what they do with your info once you swipe ur card, there are no clear cut rules that have been established for that. Hopefully soon merchants will have to follow better security rules and for once protect their customers . It also could be malware on your computer as well. Its hard to pinpoint. I hate using debit card, they are the worst.

Does anyone draw the Government mandated free annual credit report?

I did in 2007, and for convenience, created an account with all 3 credit bureaus for 30 days of access to the report.

In 2008, I was able to draw the Experian report for free, no problem.

With Trans Union and Equifax, I was required to log in for the report, which offered only "paid" reports. There were zero options for my free copy. These jackazzes find any possible avenue to get your money, so that you can monitor your report and get inaccurate entries deleted.

The USG does a very poor job of regulating the free report requirement.....

This has got to be some kind of scam. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed an unauthorized charge of $24.95 from a Visa Card I have through one credit union, for Experian Credit Info 866-5067894 CA. So I called that CU, they canceled that card and issued me another one along with a fraud form. From their records, I'd been charged two months in a row from the same company.

Now I just checked my regular checking account with a different CU, and found a $19.95 charge from the same company, dated Feb. 2nd!

I'm on the phone right now and my CU has told me that my Visa card has been compromised (along 8,000 other card holders), according to Visa.

Geez it's scary how easy it is for someone to get your private info.

Sounds like you accidentally signed up for "credit monitoring" when you pulled your credit report.
