Hi,

I"m a Canadian citizen engaged to a US citizen. I've received my confirmation package. It now says the wait time until an interivew can be scheduled is four to six months. It indicates that I must have all the documents on the check list before I send in the check list to get my appointment at the consulate.

Is there any risk in sending in the check list before I have all of the documents? I have almost all of them but need to get my US certified medical. Or is it standard procedure to send in the check list and get the appointment, given the long space you have to wait?

My only concern was of the Consulate looking at dates on documents vs. the date of my check list. I would hate to have a small bureaucratic inconsistancy send me right back to the beginning.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Best,

Jay

We sent our packet three back with our checklist. We are still continuing to gather all the necessary documents for Montreal. I plan on just scheduling my medical a week before whatever date I get for my interview and just spend the week in Montreal. I've been tracking a few people on here and right now it seems like packet 4 is taking about two months from packet 3 being send back, and then the interviews seem to be about a month after. But that can change as we all know! Good Luck!
