And i think USCIS has made it intentionally very very complex .............. if you go to their site, its like a puzzle. Thanks to Visajourney where people have so much experience and ready to help. I however dnt understand where from they figured out the figure 125%, and why the hell wd it be necessary. ANyway I am not an economit but the idiotic move of tormenting people in such a bad economic condition really pisses me ........... what are people supposed to do ?? Then last week i read some man killed his whole family after getting laid off. See this yahoo video :

Family`s Painfull layoff tale

You need to remember that nobody has a right to immigrate to the USA, thats why they call it an Immigration Benefit.

As far as the US geoverment is concerned you have the "Right" to marry whom ever you want but you do not the "Right" to bring your spouse/fiance to the USA simply because you are married/are going be married to them.

The poverty guidelines going up benefits those US citizens in this country because they can qualify for more benefits with a higher income in tough economic times. So dont expext the government to keep or reduce it every year to help immigrants, they wiil increase it to help US citizens/voters.

There is generally in this countly an anti-immigrant attitude and when people trying to immigrate express an sense of entitlement to immigration it only reinforces that attitude in my opinion.

I understand and agree to the part where you say that govt is trying to curb over immigration. Thats good .............. but rest what u said doesnt make any sense. Firstly the word that this country has a anti immigration attitude : that is bad if reflected globally.USA is dependent on foriegn brains and foriegn help to run this country. I am saying this being a citizen . USA what is stands today is because of a multinational unity. Look at silicon valley & the total IT industry ............... thats brain drain ........... USA is buying internation brain with money. Though the world may not be happy about that but to some extent its healthy as though it brings some other bads but it highly promotes multicultural conglomeration.

2ndly as u said "The poverty guidelines going up benefits those US citizens in this country because they can qualify for more benefits with a higher income in tough economic times. So dont expext the government to keep or reduce it every year to help immigrants, they wiil increase it to help US citizens/voters." do you really think thats true ??? men are loosing their 18-20 yrs job ....so where from higher income will come ??? a job that is done in $24/hr can be done in countries like Singapore,India,Thailand with much more better quality and much more cheap at about $8-10 /hr.... i know this evrey well as i have worked in a company in India that used to work on outsourced projects. So according to your theory only rich men will survive. Ordinary men will die as there will be less job and there will be no benefits. Yes to please certain class of people to get votes is very easy.... but do you really think general mass here is happy ... i dnt think so .

NAd do you really think illegal immegration will stop by raising the 125% issue ....never..... USA is a free country and so bonafide realtionship and marriages are always welcome here. Interracial marriages & multicultural associations are the magic of usa ...so us citizens marrying foreign people and bringing them here is not a benefit ...its a human right.... of course there is & shd be a array of laws through which all has to pass but thats there to see if there is any fraud or not.... thanks for your comments Geezer but see what u r saying as this is not a fun matter ....

Your comment "You need to remember that nobody has a right to immigrate to the USA, thats why they call it an Immigration Benefit" & "There is generally in this countly an anti-immigrant attitude " does raise question of conservative attitude. Everyone has right to immegrate based whther he/she is doing to according to US immegration laws ........... I dnt think VJ supports this kind of attitude.

we are protesting against the sudden raise in this tough economy and its true and i think more people here wd support me. Didnt want to hurt anyone`s feelings but try to realise what i protested against. Thanks

What he means by the bolded part is that they qualify for better tax breaks and higher tax returns, which in turn helps them more. It means up to these higher numbers those people will benifit from being in the lowest tax bracket, so yes it does help them. It sucks sure, but it still helps them. The rest of what he posted I completely agree on, and I am the non USC. Immigration is a priveledge, no one HAS to move to the states, people could move out as well. Everyone has the right to ask to live in the states, but them saying yes doesn't have to happen.

Thats the 100% number the 125% number is going to be about $18213, the new 2009 guidelines are usually updated about March 1.

weel may be after my big talk against Geezer`s comment may be I am wrong...i can debate a lot on that Danu but do look at the international scenario ...usa is not only one country in the world & may be its only one country that denies simple things that are considered as human rights in many other improved societies. anyways what matters is it sucks or not....and it sucks. $18,213 is not a good number. In this respect i agree to all.

well may be after my big talk against Geezer`s comment may be I am wrong regarding the taxes returns & may be i have to read more :)...we can debate a lot on that Danu but do look at the international scenario ...usa is not only one country in the world & may be its only one country that denies simple things that are considered as human rights in many other improved societies.I still disagree on the thing "Immigration is a priveledge, no one HAS to move to the states, people could move out as well. Everyone has the right to ask to live in the states, but them saying yes doesn't have to happen. " as i still have better example of other countries who respect their citizens and consider immigration as their human rights so long they and their souses are following the laws. USA will die and perish without brain draining other countries. Its happening and its a healthy way of interculture mixing. So i support that. Thats why immigration is a must. Think of companies like Genpact and other IT companies who bring IT specialists from singapore, India to USA and USA is obliged to offer them & their families the g.card. Its a honor for us to recieve them and its a bad thing to entertain non-immigrant attitude & 'privilage' stuff in our heart. Saying these as a USC

:ot2:

anyways what matters is the sudden rise sucks or not....and it sucks. $18,213 is not a good number. In this respect i agree to all. Thanks for the information Geezer that its effective from March. Thanks a lot & may be we took a long way , moving away from the poverty level discussion. May be we can start a thread on off topic ...later .
