Some of the experiences here remind me of driving in Houston. I've never had someone threaten to shoot me, but there's a lot of road rage otherwise. To be fair, Houston traffic is horrendous. I'm part of a Facebook group called "Houston traffic... when did I die and go to Hell?"

At least the Katy Freeway (I-10) is completed. That's so nice now. They started construction on it shortly after the dinosaurs died out and now, finally, it's finished! :D

So... American and Canadian stereotypes, huh? That reminds me of a joke: When an American bumps into a piece of furniture, he curses at it. When a Canadian bumps into furniture, he says, "Excuse me!" :P

Oh yes, Houston traffic is the worst. I love the park and ride. :-) I didn't know about that Facebook group. I will have to check it out.

Go trojans.

I went to Ferris too!

Before that it was our lady of fatima for a year of 8th grade. I had just moved to North Bay from Toronto because my mom transferred her schooling from U of T to Nipissing.

I was there from 93-95 and then I moved back to Toronto.

I loved Ferris as an actual school, hated NB with a passion though. Small military town that was way too cliquey. I didn't even fit in with most of the military kids..blech.

Ferris as a school was great, my favourite teachers were Mrs. Dupelle and Mrs. Sheritt... were they there when you were?

Ahh this is sooo weird!

Anyways if you're on facebook you should friend West Ferris, they've been putting up all the year books. :)

Exactly! I had the same problem with North Bay... worst. city. ever.

lol...thats where we moved to kingston from! It is a small world.

Haha and here I am still stuck in North Bay... but we leave soon.... hopefully April!!!

And I hate to admit I like it here... but I have never lived anywhere else in Canada...LOL and I moved here from Japan so it was a welcomed change!!

Did you go to high school in North Bay too or college?

Ahh okay... when I was in air cadets we took the bus once to the radar place in the mountain that was cool. For some reason at the time I thought it was super secret and that I was super special for getting to go... but nope, everyone else knew about it too.

I don't know all the technical terms. I must sound like an idiot. :P

Yup the tunnel (Norad) was awesome. Mrs. Dupelle was there, dont know about sherrit...I did the ST.21 Program, so I did more of the math and science stuff. Had Mr. Dell for flight class.

They have closed down the underground complex... we now work in a multi-million dollar piece of ####### building.... they even had to delay our move to the new building because it was full of black mold before we even moved in and its brand new. The office I work in gets full of ice on the windows and its always cold, its crazy, lol.

Ahh you were an ST21 student! Brainer! :P Kidding.

I think my last year there was when that program started. I was a dramoid. They had a pretty decent art department too.

I forget this one teachers name but he was from England... I had him for drafting class once. LOL I took drafting thinking it would be fun just to draw, not realizing how much math was involved. Two days into the class and I was down in the guidance office begging to be switched.

Awww! That stanks!

I must say though that North Bay has gone through quite the overhaul the last time I drove up there, I was going on a camping trip up north with my husband last September and I could help but notice that Northgate Mall looks pretty happening. See, if they had fun things when I lived there perhaps I wouldn't be so bitter! :P

 yeah I was. It was an awesome program. Did drafting and programming, as well as in grade 11 they had a class where you learned about flight...basically did about half your private pilots license. It was a lot of fun.

no, but I would like to finish up the course. At the end of the year we got to fly Cesna's. I have almost enough hours logged to get my private pilots license.

Wow. A whole two pages on North Bay.

Heh yea sorry.. its just weird.

Back to the topic.

Its weird though, there was another poster, she doesn't post anymore, she was the woman who couldn't get her visa right away because she had to get a police clearance from New Zealand, anyways, I worked with her mom at the hotel in Midland. Small world indeed. Thats what I get for moving around so much, I am bound to find someone I know eventually.
