How could she afford the treatment though? I would like to know how she supports the children she already has and how she was able to afford in vitro.

In vitro is EXPENSIVE.

Maybe they are really wealthy?

I think that people who are having a hard time conceiving should absolutely use the avenues available to them - as an aside.

I think this was an irresponsible move by the clinic involved.

Yes....I think of poles and nakedness...

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

From Perezhilton.com

The mother of the octuplets AND 6 other kids (pre-octuplets), Nadya Suleman, has hired not one but two LA-based publicists.

This reeks of famewhoreness and in this case, it just feels gross!

The octuplet flacks have revealed that they've fielded dozens of interview requests and offers for book, film and television deals.

And, some media reports have speculated that Suleman might be paid as much as $2 million for an interview.

To that, the mom of 14's publicist said, "The money itself is not the object. She has her view of her life with her kids as they go down life's highway. She wants to be sure they are well cared for."

It would be interesting to find out if this was her plan to begin with...and that the doctors that decided to inject her were going to see some CASH.

From what I had heard, her parents' house was remortgaged to get the money for her invitro treatments..

and her 60-something father said he will have to come out of retirement and go back to work as a mechanic in iraq!

How insensitive is that of the daughter on her parents as well...I think it's horrible.

That is disgusting, though that the same time, why one earth would they let her do something like that? As sad as it sounds I believe this is all a publicity stunt and that they are hoping to ride on the backs of other peoples donations to them. It actually sickens me a bit to think of the families that do this...have multiples just to be popular and get other people to pay for things.

WELFARE

Really? Welfare would pay for someone to have embryos emplanted in them? That certainly seems silly to me. You can't afford to have children, but here lets give you some anyways!

haha meant to say IMPLANTED not EM.

####### I am not on my game today.

No, welfare won't pay for the invitro, but it will pay her a stipend each and every month for those children. Her father is going back to work to help support them, and her mother has said she is leaving, she is fed up with the situation.

I do agree that she shouldn't have been allowed to have more kids. Six is an incredibly large responsibility and her being unemployed and single doesn't help.

I don't agree that people who are unable to conceive naturally should resign themselves to not having any children. If they are a good and stable family, why not utilize the technology to have a child? I know people should take a harder look at adoption, but for many people, it is just not really an option for them. I don't see anything ethically wrong with it as long as they can provide a good loving home for the child.

Not necissarily. She hasn't received any of the massive advance payments that she was seeking, only development deals. These are tantamount to a small payoff up front, and a promise to look into it. I do fear that with this massive outrage from a majority of people, that she will get her own t.v. show. You know people would watch it too. She's a trainwreck. It's like watching The Hills, people watch, because they hate the vapid people on it.
