Hi VJ People,

My sweet wife and I are in the process of filing our AOS, and everything is going along fairly well, except for the requirements on the medical, there seems to be a lot of different opinions on how to handle this, so we've decided to just send in what we already have and take an RFE, at least we'd get a straight answer as to what our state requires, although it may mean another setback, this isn't going to be nearly as painful as when we we're apart, I've already got my my girl, so whats the worst that can happen?

Thanks,

Ben and Hazel

You're not alone. We feel much the same way.

What possible issue with the medical would you think might come up?

Well like does he really need a TB skin test or will they overlook that new rule since the chest x-ray was clear? If the K1 medical was just 4 days after the rule change, will the IO notice? Did every IO, in every field office, even learn the rule changes? Did all the Civil Surgeons, in every town, read their memo about the new forms? If so, why do they still give out old forms and say a TST isn't needed? Can we find a Civil Surgeon who will fill out the new form without wanting to charge $200 or more and do the whole medical over again when it's not required? Will they lose his K1 medical between the Lock Box and CSC? Will Dr. Arnold who's been transcribing everyones's immunization records change her mind and transcribe the TB test too? Will her trancribed immunization be enough without the TB skin test?

It's still very much up in the air and everybody is not on the same page yet.
