Dear Kim_G,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

May God Bless You always.

I would like to comment regarding confusion with the medical report and I-485. The general guideline is that the report is valid for a year.

However, it is incorrect to state that one should not include a medical report with initial I-485 filing since it will expire before I-485 gets adjudicated. I don't know where this information comes from.

What I'm about to say was given to me by an immigration officer. So, when I brought an updated medical report with me to the local office that had my I-485 file, the officer said it was not necessary for me to do that, BECAUSE the medical report initially submitted with AOS application will NOT expire in a year, it will be acceptable even if your AOS takes more than a year to adjusicate. If your AOS gets denied and you decide to re-file, then you wil have to obtain a new medical.

Send the medical with your I-485 package don't wait to take it with you to the interview.

The doctor at the public health department told me this... there is no reason to do another tb skin test if you have had a positive result before with no other sign of TB. If you go to the same doctor who did the initial tests, they should have a record. Ask the civil surgeon to send you for a chest x-ray. If the he/she insists and does it anyway and they end up sending you to the health clinic coz "oh my God it's positive!!!", let the doc at the health clinic know what happened so that the civil surgeon can be educated.

Hi to everyone. I'm new here in VJ. I'm planning to file VAWA petition but my evidence is more on affidavit/declaration from friends, family and therapist. I'm having second taught with my evidence coz i think USCIS wants more hard evidence like police report, medical report and etc... Anyone who been in my situation and got approved?! It's been tough for me this past couple of months and I'm so lost. I dont know where to start. :(

Dear TransPorter,

I never sent any Doctor's / medical report , Police report. When you write a Declaration letter to USCIS, explain in detail about all the situations your faced with your spouse.

My VAWA got approved without the above two reports and its not mandatory to have all the report/letter. Everybody's situation is unique in its own way.

I wish you all the BEST :)
