OMG ... not to be dramatic but my I-360 got approved today. Just logged onto the website and saw the update. I also got an email saying they have transferred my case to the National Benefit Center to schedule and interview. No wonder they kept touching my case! I am so happy - I doubt I will sleep tonight. Now who do I call at midnight?????

On the public benefit thing, just go to your local welfare office and fill in the forms. the man I found there gave me a booklet and told me to just apply for everything. If you don't qualify they will just reject that particular request and not the whole application. Unfortunately the lady who interviewed me decided I didn't qualify for any (long story) and I was all out of patience at that point so I just let it go. Good luck.

Thank you very much for the answers. You guys are very friendly. I called some numbers of government agencies regarding public benefits but frankly nobody could give me any normal info what to start from.

If someone knows what the first step for public benefits, please let me know?

Dear Diama,

Try catholic charities, its really a good place to start

One week from today and it would be 20 months since I sent my I-360 self petition. As of today, there is no decision made in my case, none RFE ..........

Does anyone knows how many prima facie letters they can issue before they make a decision on your case? Don't they have a limite issuing prima facie cases?

Hi EWTN, I don't know how long it takes for USCIS to make a decision on our cases, but I will tell you this, it will not be any longer and they will soon have an answer on your case.

I would like to thank you and everybody here for all the support, encouragement, for reminding me never to lose hope and for including me in your prayers. On Sept 22nd, my I-360 case was approved, I did not know it until today, I did not have access to a computer at that time.

Anyway, my priority date was Feb 2008 and my case was approved Sept 2009, it took 19 months or so but I got a positive result. So EWTN, God willing, the same thing will happen to you.

EWTN2009, that's the spirit. Be faithful I am sure that good things will happen on your case soon. My very first I-360 was denied about two months after I filed so this was a second petition for me. So if they have had your case for this long it can only mean good things and not bad.

Just remember that this too shall pass!

Hi everyone, I will especially mention EWTN 2009, hang in there, my friend!

I'm getting nervous about the interview, I received an e-mail but there was no mention of when the interview would be. I know a lot of people here have gone through this exeprience, could you please give me an idea of what to expect? I have yet to speak to my lawyer tomorrow, all I know is, from our previous conversations, that she will be present during the interview.

Thank you and God Bless

Hi Guys,

congratulations to everybody whom got approval recently - and I wish strenght whom are waiting for it.

I just wanted to share my experience with you about the updates online. About the "misterious touches".

My vawa casE was approved this April and my lawyer filed an applicatin for AOS this Jun.

After the Bio - July 30th - I was checking my case online every single day ... then one day a said to myself: this is not neceseary. Everything happens when it has to happen.

That day my lawyer called me that they sent me a NOA with my interview-date!

I could't believe this miracle, so I checked my case-status online right away - but there were no touches, no updates, NOTHING!

So I neviously called her back about my concerns, and she replied: NEVER MIND THE COMPUTER! I HAVE THE NOTICE ON MY DESK!!!

I was puzzled, I had to pinch myself ...

And YES, THERE WAS AN INTERVIEW DATE.

And YES, WE WENT TO THE INTERVIEW ... AND YES, THEY APPROVED MY AOS!!!!

But the thing is: online update appeared only AFTER MY INTERVIEW!!!

So ... you never know ...

Please, everebody stay strong. Something GOOD IS COMING!!!

God Bless You All!!!

2008-april-10 Receipt date

2008-april-14 NOA- Establishment of prima facie case

2009-february-9 Extension of prima facie

2009-april-8 NOA Approval notice

2009 - jun 24 - file for AOS

2009 - july 30 - Bio

2009 - aug 14 - NOA - interview

2009 - sept 16 - interview

2009 - SEPTEMBER 16 - LAWFUL PERMANENT RESINDENT - APPROVAL!!!!
