Dear Honest,

My case hasn't been touched lately. Last time it was touched was on August 12/2009 when I sent them a letter requesting an update on my case because my lawyer keeps telling me that there is nothing to do but wait and I received an extension of prima facie case few days later.

This week I have sent a letter to a new congress lady, no response so far, and also sent emails requesting help to CATHOLIC CHARITIES in other counties, because I found out that the closest office to me has been closed. It's very difficult to me to go to another office because I have no transportation.

Indeed I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any advises?

Dear EWTN,

You can ask your attorney to request for adjudication on your case as I mentioned early for QWERTY07. Your case has been way behind their processing time and your attorney can send a request for adjudication. Simply waiting will not work because your case is alomost 2 years now.

The other option you can approach Catholic Charities and ask their suggestion before proceeding anything on your own.

Also consult other attorney who work for free or very less money for VAWA cases.

please check with you state Coalition Against Domestic Violence,

Take a Info pass and check with USCIS and also

call the Vermont VAWA hot line and ask them.

otherwise you can write a letter on your own to Adjudicate you case but double check with other resources. I wish I could be a Immigration attorney to advise/help you.

I wish you ALL THE BEST & GOD's grace will be there for you to help you. I wish you to get the approval soon.

Honest

its the same for me to

Same for me too. They are going to launch the website completely on sep 22nd 2009.

Redesigning USCIS.gov

"In the next 90 days, USCIS will launch a vastly improved Web site that will, for the first time ever, allow applicants to get updates on their status of their applications via e-mail and text message and online."

-President Obama, June 25th, 2009

On September 22nd a redesigned USCIS.gov web site will be launched to help customers navigate the immigration system and remain up-to-date regarding their case status.

In response to customer feedback, from March to June 2009, USCIS conducted focus group discussions, usability tests, and surveys regarding general functionality of the website with a broad cross-section of users. Participants ranged from national & local stakeholders to customers and visitors to USCIS.gov.

Based on the findings, a design has been approved and is currently in development. The improved design of USCIS.gov follows four core principles:

A customer-centric homepage that provides applicants with a “one-stop shop” of immigration services information.

Simplified navigation and improved search capability.

Enhanced customer service tools including expanded Case Status Online with both email and text functionality.

Information that is written clearly and meets the needs of our customers.

USCIS wants to help prepare customers for the redesigned website, so we are providing a mock-up of the new homepage reflecting these core principles. Between now and September 22nd, USCIS will continue to provide updates on the progress we make toward this goal. Please check our web site for future progress updates and to get answers to your questions.

If you have any questions about the website redesign, we want to hear them. Please send all questions to uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov. We will post the answers to your most frequently asked questions.

Dear Honest,

Thank you very much for your encouraging words. I would definitely contact Catholic Charities regarding to my case. Do you think they could send that letter for me requesting to adjudicate my case to Vermont service center instead of my lawyer?. Have you checked the re-designed website? Go to the Processing times and after you fill out the three fields: form type / sub form type / service center, you'll see that processing times goals for vawa cases 2009 in Vermont is 5 months. Maybe that's why cases filed this year are already approved and ours are still pending. You can also check on the blue dots what the status is on your case. Mine is still as "Initial review" !!!!!!!!!!!

This afternoon I received a response letter from that congress lady, regarding to help that I asked for checking status on my case . I really think that THEY DID NOT READ MY LETTER, this is their response. From my point of view it's completly inacurrate against for what I asked for

Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration reform. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.

Hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants enter the United States illegally each year. While many are searching only for a better life for themselves and their families, our federal, state and local government resources are often over-burdened as a result of their illegal entry. To reduce these costs, many Americans reasonably call for the federal government to gain control of our borders and to reduce the population of illegal immigrants. As your Representative, I am committed to passing meaningful immigration reform that fixes our broken borders and protects America’s citizens and legal immigrants.

Our current immigration system is failing, and I believe our country must mend its broken borders. I support a comprehensive solution that both relieves pressure on our borders and also resolves the status of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants living in our country. Employment verification systems to prevent employers from hiring unauthorized individuals are a critical component of comprehensive immigration reform. I fully support an E-Verify system that is accurate, does not burden small businesses with unnecessarily large implementation costs and, most importantly, does not mistakenly turn U.S. workers away. According to this audit, 1 in 10 naturalized citizens is mistakenly told they cannot work, compared to 1 in 1,000 natural born citizens. This is a hundred-fold difference. This study shows how E-Verify’s flaws can have a real-world impact on US citizens trying to find jobs. Imposing a flawed and costly requirement on businesses and their workers during a recession is bad economic policy. Congress must be committed to fixing this flawed system before it is implemented across the board.

Instead, I support alternative proposals that would increase funding for detention facilities, border patrol agents, and port-of-entry inspectors. I believe we should end the “catch-and-release” program created under the Bush Administration by providing our border patrol agents with more resources to help hold and detain illegal immigrants. I am hopeful that this Congress and new Administration will authorize the technology, personnel, and equipment needed to monitor and secure every mile of the border. I will work with my colleagues in Congress and with the Obama Administration to address these issues.

Additionally, I do not believe that state and local law enforcement resources should be used to fund a federal responsibility. Congress should not “pass the buck” to already overstretched state and local law enforcement.

Again, thank you for contacting my office, and please do not hesitate to do so again regarding immigration or any other matter. I will keep your concerns in mind and continue to update you on this and other pressing issues of the 111th Congress. I also invite you to visit my Web site and sign up to receive my newsletter at wassermanschultz.house.gov for additional information and legislative issue updates.

Sincerely,

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Member of Congress

Even without reading what you wrote them anyone can tell they did not read your letter. This is just a generic response. Why did they even bother to send it. I'd rather they were silent than send something like this. It is so frustrating ... If this wasn't such a crucial thing I would tell you to send it back and ask if they actually read your letter!

Well, today they didn't touch my case again ... don't know what the excitement was in the last three days. I have a question tho' ... should I renew the prima facie? Mine expired but having it did me no good - I couldn't get any public benefits. I was denied twice and when I made an info pass appointment at the field office to ask about it they said some states don't honor that letter. You'd think someone would fore warn us when they send the darned thing!!!!

March 2008 - Filed initial package (I-485, I-130 etc)

26th Feb, 2009 - Filed the I-360

Konjo,

I felt stupid when I got their answer. But I did replay saying:

Mrs. Wasserman Schultz,

I think you misunderstood. I'm not an undocumented immigrant. I contacted you because my case is way out of the processing times and I need your help to find out how the cases at Immigration offices are being handled.

I appreciate your answer.

Indeed it's very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Please keep me in your prayers, it seems like there is still a long way to go........

Dear EWTN2009

I personally felt that they taught you are a undocument Illegal Immigrant which is not TRUE. You entered legally and you have the marrige certificate, divorce decree and other proofs.

If you want to adjudicate you have to fill the G-28 & send it to USCIS saying from now on,you are going to represent your case. Think about all backup plan before applying. As per my counselor if they issue the Prima Facie you can stay legally.

The new VAWA approval 5 months I checked it and in the right end bottom it says Effective as of July 31th 2009. Ours is jan, feb and march cases.

Check with attorney for a new VAWA for you and this time I will help you for your application, if you decide to apply.

As you said if your case is in INITIAL STATE it means they didn't process your case yet. see If someone send a VAWA application today it will be in Initial State in 2 days and establish prima facie. so You should and you must go for adjucate letter and also think of submit a new VAWA application. I don't know about your situation but if I am in your situation, I will definitely go for it. Its your life and you think and act.

check you Inbox for my message. Please let me know your state and zip code. Please send an message to my inbox. I will check for other sources for you.
