How long did your vawa took before it got approved? And types of evidence did you have? Congratulation on your success.

Well, it took me almost 7months to get approval. The reason is because I had to get some documents from my home country and other related delays. I still think if you provide all the needed papers and documents, i think the process would take about 5-6months without any RFE. I believe RFEs are the reasons for the delay so I would suggest that when you submit your application do make sure you include all the necessary things needed from you.

Actually, mine was approved in December 2010 but the notice letter was dated January 26, 2011. So I think the process after approval normally takes about 60-80days for your files to transfer from VSC to NBC if you file and reside in the US since you dont have to wait for visa to be available, and NBC would transfer your file to Local office and your interview notice would be sent within this time frame, this is cases of pending I485.

Its been 3 months that I applied and no RFEs yet, but also no touches after dec 31. Is good to know that doesn't take to long for them to transfer the I485 that is pending.

Well, congrats again!!! Best of luck to u.... Only God knows what a journey this is...

Please make sure that you provide police clearance from all the places you have lived in the last 5 years prior to your VAWA application. If you can get the same from your home country, that would be very wonderful. Also provide evidence of good faith marriage and good moral character. If you can get some family and friends support you with affidavits it would speed up your application. This is a fact!

Hi portland, I refiled my case in January and so far I received a RFE for the police clearance and also I got an appointment for biometrics which I did 2 weeks ago. With my VAWA application, I included the I765, I48d and I131. I still haven't received my EAD or travel documents yet and I was wondering why they take so long.

Filed Vawa(I360), I485, I131, I765: November 30, 2009

Receipts recieved: Dec 2, 2009

Recieved Prima Facie: December 8,2009

I360 Touched: December 9, 2009

Dear kymber22,

First, make sure you submit the police clearance VSC needed from you. From my understanding your EAD normally takes about 90days but since you already had your biometrics two weeks ago, I would suggest that you give them till the end of the month ok. Also, remember some people have received their EAD within 60-90days after filing. So do your counting and remain positive you have nothing to worry about ok. Let me know if you need any help from me.

Your GC was approved very long time ago, Congrats!! I noticed some members had to wait after their interview many months before they get their GC most of them get approval ride away but the good thing i never red anybody been denial after their interview. But the waiting is very mortifying  I wish an smooth process for everyone.

The worst of this process is the waiting  but i think you waited enough and will be over soon. I waited almost 6 months to be reeschedule my interview i got infopass three times, last time i talked to the supervisor i think it worked because i got my interview letter a week later and now i am preparing myself for that day March 31th now i wonder what will they want from me other than the usual things they ask for.
