so yeah, I've had my interview today.

He took me to the room, asked me when I entered US and asked me when my birthday was. asked me whether i was ever deported or arrested. Then he asked me for my original birth certificate (I've filed translated certified copy), I told him I didn't have it on me.

So he started printing out something for 10 minutes and turned out it was RFE for the original of my birth certificate without translation. I had a copy of it though so I gave it him.

Then he was like "okay, now it seems like i have everything to finished your case".. so he was going to update my file but his computre freezed and the information didnt't go through.

He was like "well, i'm going to fix computer during the day, so that you gonna get your approval letter in a week and your card in 30 days or so", and i was like "is there any way i can check?", and he said "well, you will know that your information went though when you get an approval letter and your card".

Soooo, I've checked online 12 hours later, and there is still no update. that's stresses me out a lot. :(

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I think that if the interviewer said that you will receive an approval letter in a week and your card in a month's time then this is what will happen. Don't worry, have faith everything is ok. Did he stamp your passport?

What other documents did you take for interview, did you take your I-360 file? Did he take any documents from your file? Did you go with an attorney or by yourself.

I will pray for you, I am already sure that you will get your green card in a month's time.

Okay this is not a competition about who has had a longer wait in regards to the VAWA process. I was simply expressing my frustrations. We are ALL going through similar struggles, so I figured if anyone would understand, it would be the people on this forum. If people are going to be judgmental, I won't be returning on this site.

Take care

Honey610, My attorney was sick and could not make it to the original date and so had to be rescheduled. It really depends on how busy your service center is, my attorney was able to get it rescheduled to the following month. I would say the new date was around 30 days later, so it shouldnt be too long if you or your attorney follow up and explain the situation.HTH

I have been busy and plan to travel home in feb 2011, my journey was a very long one too, but i finally got through. I wish and hope everyone here going through this phase is able to come out the same way.Are Kwala,LostInNJ and other veterans still around?

Hi guys,

It's nice to see that there is some positive action going on here... Something really strange happened the other day... DHS called me just before Thanksgiving and left me a message.. they were like we need a good address to we could return some documents to you... and they left me a phone number...

This is SOO Weird.... and Creepy..

I immediately called my attorney and let him listen to this message.. even he said it was strange that they would call me

a) Don't these people know where I live? "What the hell do you mean by you need a GOOD address".. are these people that incompetent.. I mean if they have my phone number, the definitely have my address right?

b) This office was the original office that I filed it from before I moved to another State... I thought they already Transferred my case to the New State I live in.. Why is this old office calling me?

c) This was in regards to my Initial I-485 that I filed.. not the Vawa... I am soo confused..

I had my attorney call them back.. and they said they wanted to return the initial documents and photographs that I have submitted to the immigration officer when I went to my first interview with my husband back in August of 2007!!! He asked them why, and they said because they have closed the investigation on my case... Is this a good thing? Should I be worried? Why am I under investigation anyways?!

They told my attorney I need to be there when the documents arrive so I could sign for them, but my attorney gave them his address instead and they said that was fine since all my VAWA documents were going to him anyways, and I don't want my Crazy Ex to find out about this whatsoever because I feel like he is monitoring me and stocking my mails and emails..

My Attorney has not received anything from them since.... I didn't know snail mail takes that long.. Especially for documents that need to be signed....

Anyways, did anyone go through a similar experience? Any feedback would help...

Thanks.. and God bless..
