Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your wishes, kind words, and support! It has been very rough and yes I can relate with many of you. Doing the VAWA application has been extremely painful for me since it's like reliving all the abuse. I was crying uncontrollably when doing all the paperwork and have had lots of bad dreams from all the trauma I experienced being in that relationship. I am truly not happy about the way things turned out since I consider marriage to be a very sacred and important relationship. I thought I was in it till I die but never imagined it would be so bad that I would be abused and crying everyday and even after removing myself from that situation. My spouse and his family still continue to cause problems for me. It's like I have to hide from them. Anyways, it's all in the past and I am really relieved to move forward. I am just barely getting over the flashbacks and am very lucky to have very supportive people around me so that I can get back to a normal life. I guess these type of experiences only make you stronger and help you appreciate the better things in life.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I hope you all hear soon with some good news :)

To answer some of your questions in one message, I hope the following helps:

1. I got married early last year after having known my spouse for quite some time.

2. After we got married the abuse started and he figured I had nowhere to go.

3. He constantly abused me and made excuses and didn't file for my papers as promised on many occasions.

4. He also told me he did not want me to work so he probably figured I won't file her papers, she won't be independent, and I can abuse her.

5. The abuse got out of hand and I left him, this angered him further and his behavior got worse and more abusive.

6. He was very nice in front of other people and always wanted to be with me alone and that is when he was always very abusive. I also discovered that he was crazy in many ways and took habit forming medications on a regular basis and sometimes insisted I take them too.

7. With much hesitation, I applied for VAWA.

8. The RFE I received was for the following:

- good faith marriage

- clarification on letter from my psychologist

- additional evidence of abuse

- good moral character

9. I submitted everything they asked for and waited.

Now that I got the e-mail notifications for approval, I am very happy that my faith in God is intact. I can't wait to get the approval notices and the interview. The interview makes me nervous but the big part is done. Now I can't wait to be free and put all the dark clouds behind me. I am ready for some sunshine.

If I can be of any help to anyone then please do let me know. I hope all the genuine cases get some positive results soon...

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone pls. tell me how long it took after you mailed your i-360 did you get a response from vermont.

Worried.

hello Myjayjay,

it took me over 2 years to get an approval if thats what you are asking. But if you are referring to getting a receipt number from the time you sent the forms, it depends give or take give them 2 weeks processing time (that is usually the max time these days) and add the postal time it takes from your state to vermont by regular email and the time it would take for the receipt number to reach you from vermont to your state. So roughly around a 3-4 weeks is a fair wait time per my opinion there are a few who have got everything done in 1-2 weeks. But after 4 weeks if you have not heard anything, its probably a good idea to call VSC or set up an appt with local service center and try to get help from them to trace your 360 in VSC.good luck, i hope you get the receipt number soon.

Thank you Anonymous09,

You answered my question already. Bless you.

I wanted to know how long I had to wait to get the receipt number. I mailed in my petition on the August 5th 2010. So I guess I'm still ok, I was worried when I saw other people's timeline and it say they got prima facie a few days later.

Hi Ashley,

I work for an airline, the answer to your question is yes you can travel within the US by plane regardless of your status. You just need to present your unexpired Government issued ID and that's all there is to it. Do not worry about security checks or immigration. There is no immigration involved on Domestic flights (flights within the US and US territories). You just need to present your ID and boarding card to TSA check point (security)so that they can verify that you are the actual person travelling. Other than that there is no need to worry about getting held up by immigration. Good Luck.

P.S I travelled many times on domestic flights when I was out of status, I never once had a problem. Just do not get on an international, that's when you will have problems re-entering the US.

so how u can apply for so early ? its count the day u came to state or the day u got ur green card ?

Just got another e-mail dated yesterday that they transferred my file to USCIS office and is now being processed. Not sure what USCIS office as they don't specify but I hope things go smoothly and well. Can't wait to be done soon. Anyone have any idea if this means local office? Thanks.

Hi colours, congratulations for your approval.

I just got my interveiw letter this week and is for sep 17

they gave me instructios as what to bring to the interveiw

1. all your paper work, you know that you already have.

2. completed medical examination there is a list in uscis webside and they tipically do it fast.

3 divorce decree if you ever been married and you are not any longer.

4.there is a espesific instructions if you ever been arrested but the most interesting is if you had a penalty of $500 or more because you were involve in a traffic accident you have to bring all court documentations. I say these because anybody could be involve in an traffic accident or involuntary make an infraction.

what i can say is be ready for your interveiw so you don't have to strees out because when the letter comes the weeks will go fast.

i am strees out because i never went to visit any lawyer for divorce and i feel like i don't have more time. If you didn't do it its time to start your divorce proccess, i hope for me won't make a bad impression and result as a delay of an approval.

I wish you good luck and just wait it probably will take less than two months from now.
