What is the observed time frame after an I-360 case is approved and bio's taken for an appointment notice on the 485?

The EAD has been approved and received but nothing about the 485 can be found online about time frame of processing the 485 based on a I360 approval?

It shows it has been received but nothing is happening after nearly 3 months on the 485.

Any info would be great.

Hello

I would really appreciate help from anyone filing I360 on their own. I can not afford an attorney so i will be filing solo. here is a little back ground on me.

January 1989 I was brought into the united states without inspection by my parents at the age of 1. I have never been arested never did anything illigal besides work without authorization with my own name and social that is not valid for employment.

October 2000 i started dating my husband that is a us citizen. we had a very normal relationship

febuary 2007 me and my husband moved in together and things started going down hill alot of emotional phycological abuse physical as well but no proof i was afraid to call the police because they work with ICE in the county we lived. he also wouldn't let me see my family and friends when i wanted and would not let me drive or work or have a phone if anyone called his phone he would say i wasn't able to talk. and when i did babysit to get a little money he would take it away. sometimes he would leave me in our apartment with no food money or phone for days.

May 2008 i found out i was pregnant

Feb 2009 we married and moved away from my family and things got even worse

march 2009 my daughter was born

sept 2009 I GOT OUT moved from georgia to miami FL to get away

now he is thretening to deport me and take my daughter because i can not support her because i can not work and he is trying to bribe me to got back to him he says if will finally file for my paperwork

because we were together for 9 years i wouldn't have any problem showing any kind of proof to validate the marriage but the only thing i have to proof the abuse is testemony from friends and family also he hurt my daughter when she was 1 month old and i called the hope center but didn't really specify anything just that he had anger issuse they gave me a number to a marriage counseler and anger management classes

i would appreciate any help (ot tips)i can get please and thankyou

hello all members

To all who been trough Vawa have you ever been to court during or after your case approved ? or do you have to go to court when you have a vawa case..

Im just wondering cause somebody telling me , you can not travel around the US while your VAWA is pending ..

I was gonna move to California ,taking a plane ...

I have no ID Only passport ..Their making me confused is somebody can answer my question pls ..I really really appreciate any answers

Thank you and GOD bless

you have to notify USCIS of changing your address and you can move inside of US with your passport, i've been traveling with passport a lot, the only thing they check is is you name, picture, expiration date. they don't check visas, i-94 and etc.

if you are traveling outside of US, you need to have Adv. Parole. while my case was pending i got AP and went to visit my family. my visa was expired long time ago, and the only thing i had is my AP when i entered the border.

hope that was helpful...

good luck

Hi bibi.mac,

Below was a response I would like to share to you. I was also planning to do my self petition solo from last time. I got this response from Langa, and she advised me that If I can read and write- I can do this on your own. I find that very encouraging. I have no luck with lawyers and always getting ripped-off, so I did gathered all the requirements and evidences that I needed to present myself petition on my own.I just mailed my self-petition just 2 days ago so I can't say much of the progress yet. I couldn't afford to pay for all the filing fees so I also wrote a fee waiver. You have to do some research on all the requirements and evidences before doing it yoursel. There are more than this to present and one of these are your strong letter of declaration about the abuse, statements from witness, pictures, all utility bills etc. in both your names, any kind of documents where you both lived together. If you feel more comfortable with assistance, I think it would be better for you to make an appointment in womens shelter n your county, and ask for immigration advocate that handles a VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)cases. They can all do this for you with no charge.

You seem to have a strong case esp. you have a child with the abuser. I pray and hope that all things work out for you.Take care now and keep the faith. Never lose hope!

Keep us posted.

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I'm just about to start to file for a VAWA case for myself. Could anyone advise me if I have to hire a lawyer for this. I prefered not because I couldn't afford it. Has anyone experienced of filing their case by doing it themselves and without a lawyer?

Please help. I will highly appreciate all advises.

Thank you and God Bless everyone in your quests!

2chro2015

Hi, you can do this on your own believe me you can. As long as you can read and write you can. The burden of proof is on you. I filed in 2005 and I was approved and I did everything all on my own. The lawyers tried to tell me my case was a difficult one and they also wanted me to pay alot of money but I prayed about it and decided to do it on my own. My case had a child involved and I had intitially filed as married to a USC and had to change everything in the middle of my ex-husband's petition because of the abuse. It was alot but I did it and so can you!! Please email me anytime if there any information I can help with.

Good luck and know that we are here to help anyway we can and never to judge you!!
