My wife owns a house and wants to show that for I864 (affidavit of support). Does anyone know how to show the value of the house? How to show the equity in it? Thanx....

If you have a recent appraisal, you can supply a copy of that plus a copy of your extant mortgage statement that shows the outstanding balance on principal, or if an appraisal is not available then you can always present a copy of the state tax bill, that should have a figure that relates to current market value. The combination of these two documents will show the approximate equity.

And you really don't need to do this if the income exceeds 125% of poverty line - I didn't provide any asset info for I129 or AOS. Also, most people have very little equity in their homes so it may not really help you. Good Luck
