I hate to say my plans to go to Cambodia and get married to my fiancee in a traditional Khmer ceremony, have changed now. Really kind of disappointing. :( Our plan was for me to go there, get married and then come back to the US together a week or so later. But, with my whole trip including both our air fairs costing close to $3200 total, we have decided that she will just come here alone. I feel really bad about that too. She has never flown before and I really feel I should be there to suport her during her journey. I guess on the bright side, we can save that money to travel a little in the US when she gets here (haha, and pay the house payment!!).

I wonder how many other VJ member's plans have changed due to our crazy economy?

How would you ever have been able to do that?

Depends on whether the traditional Khmer marriage is legally recognized in Cambodia as a marriage ceremony. If so, by doing such and then coming to US on a K-1 would be considered visa fraud (the OP's timeline shows they have a K-1 issued) because of the marriage...but if it is just a ceremonial 'marriage' with no papers signed/or registered, then its allowable.
