Ok, so today in the mail my husband got a notice for a biometrics appointment. We filed for his AOS about a year ago and he had a biometrics march of last year.

So I checked the case status and it says the petition was approved 3 days ago...

So what I'm wondering is why would he have to get a second biometrics? Especially since the petition was approved 3 days later...

Is this normal? Or do u think they accidentally mailed the appointment notice instead of an approval notice?

And another thing...we mailed in an AR-11 back in november when we moved...but this appointment notice that we just received has our old address on it even though we received a receipt saying they received it and changed our address back in november.

So any suggestions on all this? I mean he is going to call tomorrow...but I am afraid they won't tell us anything...and I'm also afraid they are going to maintain that we did not send the change of address and we'll be screwed because it's been like 3 months.

Hello,

I advise you go give your fingerprints again.

The same thing happened to me, but with the I-765. It was approved, but for some reason, my first fingerprints have never been released. I didn't understand why over a month after the approval I still didn't have the card. So I complained and they took a referral and so I receive another biometrics letter. I had to go for another appointment. But it was worth it, because in the same day, I received an email from them saying that the production of the card had been ordered and I received it a few days after.

You should go again. Approval doesn't mean they will issue your card! They need the biometrics first and if somehow they lost them or something, then you'll wait a very long time..

I don't know if it's the same, but when my husband was applying for naturalization they sent out a letter a year later asking for him to go redo his biometrics... he asked why when he went and they said that if the application takes over a year that the biometrics expire. Dumbest thing I ever heard. But that was their reason... If after a year your application isn't processed they make you redo your fingerprints.
