On-Line Case Status

I received our NOA1 on 1-22-09, it was dated 1-16-09. I have "Registered" on the USCIS on-line status as a "Customer". My problem is that the case/receipt number has not yet been put into the database. When I enter the number, it says it is not a valid number, yes I removed the "-" dashes, and yes I included "EAC", no there were no "*". I know it is still early on in the process, but can someone tell me about how long it should take after NOA1 is issued until the case status database shows it?:blink:

Thanks in advance.

The USCIS has been having problems lately with tracking case numbers. Usually, once you receive your receipt number you should be able to check the status almost immediately however there are several people (November filers especially) that have the same issue and to date, we are still unable to check our status online. Several of us have phoned the USCIS explaining this to them and they had confirmed that this is an ongoing problem with new receipts/case numbers being generated through their system and to wait at least 6 months before calling them again for updates. I know its annoying but try not to stress it too much as you aren't the only one in this situation....you have your NOA1 already so you're officially on the system
