Wrong Names

It seems that I misunderstood the fundumentals of how Chinese names are laid out in Pin Yin. Coupled with the fact that my fiancee's son has the first name Yang, which happens to be my fiancee's surname. So I was also confused. At anyrate I sent out the I-129F with the mixed up names. It now approved. My I-797C show my fiancee's middle name as her first name. All our documents should be at the NVC later this week. How do I rectify this problem. I talked to my fiancee about it and she was told by people from the website she uses, that all I need to do is send an email or fax to the consulate in Guangzhou explain what happened, then when she gets packet #3 she fills it in with all the correct information. She was told that it was no big deal because they have all the notarized documents. Is this right? Can someone help me out?

Contact NVC and get it corrected. http://travel.state.gov/about/info/info_308.html#visa

Use the correct convention for US an DOS forms, My Wife is Yang Yu, and her sister is Yang Min, Family name, Given Name, but on I-129F and other US forms it would be Min Yang, or Yu Yang.

Alos I highly recommend joining and studying the FAQ pages at A Candle for Love, Guangzhou consulate tends to deny visas to the un-prepared.

Moving this to NVC forum.
