Stimulus Payment

This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:

"Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? "

A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

"Q. Where will the government get this money? "

A. From taxpayers.

"Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? "

A. Only a smidgen.

"Q. What is the purpose of this payment? "

A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

"Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China? "

A. Shut up."

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.

If you spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs.

If you purchase a computer, it will go to India.

If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic).

If you buy a car, it will go to Japan.

If you purchase useless #######, it will go to Taiwan.

And none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America. You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spend it on prostitutes, beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US. We should give thanks to our Government our States and and lets not forget our lovely Cities.

I used our last years stimulus payment to barely offset our taxes.

You don't have to pay taxes on it. It was a tax rebate on your tax bill for 2008 (kind of a "prebate"). If the government under-rebated you, then get in line for the "Recovery Rebate" (this is the case if your tax status changed - true for anyone who got married in 2008, received their first SSN in 2008, had a child in 2008, or made too much in 2007 to get the rebate, but made substantially less in 2008). If the government over-rebated you, then the overage does not have to be repaid. Ain't our government nice?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

My income in 2008 was 63% of what it was in 2007

I got married in 2008

Do I apply to congress for a bailout, $1B would go a long way to relieve the stress.

I never got to enjoy it, either.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Good advice. You can still buy American cars, not all of them are made in Japan.

Most cars sold in the US are made in the US regardless of the company that makes it. At least in part anyway.
