so now that we are getting this laptop we are looking into getting a wireless router... which ones would you guys suggest, preferably something under 100 dollars..

belkin seems to get a lot of good reviews but some not so good reviews too..

I like DLINK. I have had 2 of them. I gave one to my father and I later got other one. I do not use it now because I have Verizon FIOS and they have a Gateway ( not the computer company) which is a router/modem in one unit. I tried to hook up the d-link to the gateway and it seems it cause all kinds of problems..

Belkin is good also, I do not have any experince with them. Lynksys is good also. Netgear. Pretty much all are under $100.

Agreed!.. I've used DLink back in the 802.11a days, using the linksys/cicso g currently at home! For the average home user I'd recommend the Linksus WAP54G, unless your on the cutting edge and already jumping on the n bandwagon! I got mine for around $60 a year or so ago. Still available on newegg for not a lot of money. I've connected laptops, desktops, VoIP to it.. flashed a mini version of Linux (DD WRT!) on it and set it up as a repeater. The neighbours here just leave their WiFi open and unsecured! Who am I to pay the cable company yet more money for a shared medium? This is the land of the free after all! well free internet for some at least!
