yipeee Narina!

Like I said, I think this long wait at VSC(and NVC for me) will give us some relief from AP after the interviews. hopefully/god willing/inshallah all of that heh

I noticed a while back, the ones that get stuck are the ones approved faster than usual.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Its a shame that causes delays. I too expect delays cause my ficance/husband is Muslim born in Algeria. Im glad though you feel better, and so happy for you! Best Wishes for a quick approval now for you! Hope to read good news when I come back from Honeymoon.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

OUR PETITION WAS FINALLY ADJUDICATED (assigned to an officer) ON JANUARY 28, 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a good news.. Hope you will receive approval soon..

BTW, if you will make an infopass appointment, does your case must be out of processing times? Or you could just go there to inquire?

Do you think my husband could inquire at the local office too?

Eventhough not an approval. It is just good to know some real time info about our petition papers..

Thanks.

You don't have to be outside of processing time. I think anyone that is able to get to their local office should make an infopass appointment and try to get real information and accurate information about your case. I cannot tell you how relieved I am. Yes, it may take another 2 months, it might only take 2 days. At least now I know where I really am in the process.

Can someone please tell me the actual number where I can speak to a live operator in regards to my case? The only number I have for VSC is the 800 number which only offers voice recordings. I know it's tough to get to a live operator, but if someone can give the number to me, it will be very helpful!!! Thanks and good luck to all :)

It's the same number, but following different prompts: I dont know the # sequence, but i talked to a human by going through the prompts as if "you believe there is a msitake with your file" (im paraphrasing), but its something like if you need to correct an error on your forms. try that. I also got through when we were out of processing times. I just followed that prompt

Im sure there is someone on VJ that has a numerical sequence to get right through..maybe they will come along

I was hoping it was an approval but at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel like you said. It is interesting that they do the background checks in advance. That may explain why some people get approved so quickly while others have to wait forvever (if the initial checks are inconclusive and they need to do further checks). Hopefully your approval will come in a matter of days and not weeks or months.

-D

Honestly? I'm kinda happy and relieved it took long now and not later, after the interview. I'm thinking that explains why some people in say, countries which normally require security checks (MENA, India, Pakistan, etc), get approved really quick...then they get put in AP afterwards. After what he said, it makes me think that the reason is because they didn't do the checks before the adjudication...and now they are stuck doing it after. My husband has Netherlands citizenship but he's Muslim born in a Muslim country. So of course, it makes perfect sense they took so long. I was worried that they didn't do anything with the petition...and that after the approval they would stick it in AP. Now I'm a little relieved that they won't let us be in AP. Of course it's still possible, but I'm a little more positive now.

WOW congrats! Hope less waiting in the later stages for you! :star: How did you know which was your local office? Are you in the US 'cause you also talked about the husband going to the local office in Aruba and making an info pass? Sorry if I am confused. I have been reading so many stories, hard to keep track of all the small details.

The immigration officer at the local office was able to see everything going on with my petition. Everything. So I suggest anyone that has questions to just skip over USCIS and skip over congressmen, etc. You will get a more accurate, detailed answer at the local office. I wish I would have done this sooner. It would have saved me a lot of stress knowing that the reason for the long wait was due to security checks...and not wondering if the petition was lost or not!

This is great news! :-) At least now you know they're working on it.

Btw, how did you find out that it has been adjudicated? Did you call? Please share :) I'd like to know if mine has at least been assigned to someone, I can handle the waiting, but can't deal with not knowing whether someone is actually looking at my case.

Go to your local office (or your spouse if you're the one in Aruba). Make an info pass appointment. The immigration officer will be able to see what is going on with your case...in detail and in real time! Not information from November 30th :dead:

Narina,

So you actually went to your local office? If you don't mind my asking where was it? Did you make the info pass the same day and found out the same day? Was this done in person or through email? :help:

I made an appointment with the infopass system (above) last week. You select the time and date. The office is here where I live in the US. You print the appointment paper out and bring it with you. Then you get to speak to an immigration officer in person. They can give more accurate information.
