N400 part 11, signature question

I have a question on part 11 of N400 form. The instructions clearly says, "You should sign your full name without abbreviating it or using initials".

The question is should I just write my full name anyway, or should I write both my full name and short-signature beside it. Any insight will be much appreciated

Yes you should sign your full name per the instructions. That name would match what you put in Part 1.

Adding the short signature next to it could possibly raise questions. You never want to give USCIS reason to ask questions.

Part 11 is only for a signature, not print.

The thing is , i usually sign with my first name, never use my last name ... how am i going to sign ? it is going to be different signature if i write my full name

You need to sign your full name. So if your signature is your first name and the a bunch of lines don;t sign it that way. YOU NEED to Sign your whole name. Just write it out. If your name is Jane Mary Doe thats what your need to write in that space. That's all nothing special.

Hi there Cookiee!

I was pondering the same as I was about to sign my application. My "real" signature is nothing that can be misunderstood a legible. It's a scribble at best. I asked around my office and took a poll as to how my co-workers would sign. The result was to sign my name legible, i.e., spell it out, full first name + full middle name + full last name. If they want to argue when I have my interview, I will just say that technically it doesn't matter what my signature looks like, as long as it is signed by me, and I think that is the purpose of the very next "box" on the application - for the applicant to sign the application in front of an immigration officer.
