We will be filing(MFJ) for taxes sometime this month.

Am wondering if I can claim job related expenses occurred for my spouse?

I know I'll have to itemize to claim job related expenses..

Any thoughts?

What do you mean by job related expenses for unemployed spouse?

I thought job related expenses meant related to your job and required in order to keep that job. Like maybe you are required to have steel toed shoes in some industry jobs, but the company won't pay for them, you could deduct them. Not sure about if you're just seeking a job. It will all be explained in Publication 529.

if you read the itemized deduction section, certain job hunting expenses for work in your current line of work... if it is her first job or in a different line of work then not so much... in addition these expenses are subject to a 2% AGI floor
