Hey Mark,

One of the things you wil need is your ' internationale geboorteakte' (dus niet je geboorte-uittreksel!). It is mentioned on the checklist send to you with package 3. Police records will be taken care off by the Consulate. I don't know whether you were in the army, but if so I think you will need to get your military records. All that stuff you will have to hand over when you will have your interview.

By the way, sorry to hear that you haven't received you package 3 yet. I've also heard from someone who send in their checklist and after almost 2 weeks of waiting stil haven't received package 4 and their interview date. I don't know, maybe the long wait has got something to do with the 'vakantieperiode' in Holland?

Ah the phone and pc problems.....they suck big time (we've had them too). Well, not long now untill you don't have to get frustrated by that any longer! Just hang in there.....

Take care!

Mark sorry to hear that you haven't recieved your package 3 yet. I was hoping at work today that when I came home I would hear good news from you and Michele. I'm sure you will have it by Monday.

Em and Ed . .. .could you please tell me what you sent back from package 3? Today we sent back the ds 156 and ds 230 two copies and the check list. Where we supoosed to send back the DS 156 K also? It was confusing in the insturctions . . .because it listed 4 forms to fill out and sign and date and then said to send back the DS 156 and DS 230 two copies. If not we will send the other two forms on Monday. Thanks for any advice.

Welcom Arizia and I hope that you are able to move through the process quickly. Post any questions and we will try to answer them. I don't have an answer about translation. We did not have any papers that needed to be translated. Sorry.

Hey Em,

Hmmmmm en waar kan je een "internationaal geboorteakte vandaan halen?

(in English; hmmmm and where do i get the "international birthcertificate" from? )

Ik zal waarschijnlijk wel een paar vrije dagen van m'n werk (werk 60-70U/week) moeten opnemen om het een en het ander te regelen niet?

(in English; I probably will need a couple days time off work (still working 60-70hrs/week)to take care of things right?)

Hoeveel vrije dagen zou ik nodig hebben om aan de gevraagde info in pakket 3 te voldoen?

(in English; how many days time off will i need to gain all the info requested in packed 3?)

I'm reeeally starting to get very exited here,..............woooooooooooooooohoooooooooo :D

Hangon inthere honey,................its not long NOW,............wooooooooooohooooooooooo :D

Many thx in advance!

Regards Mark.

@Rhonda: The DS 156 K has to be send back as well. I also didn't send that one back straight away because I was also confused by the instructions, but the Consulate just send me another DS 156 K form with a small note saying I had to send that form back too, so it really wasn't such a big problem that I just didn't send it in with all the other stuff.

@Mark: Maybe you could check the website of the 'gemeente' you live in to see if you can fill out some form online to obtain your 'internationale geboorteakte'. I think most 'gemeentes' have that option available these days. If not you will have to go to 'burgelijke zaken' at the 'gemeentehuis'. Be prepared though, one copy of the' internationale geboorteakte' will cost you atleast 10,50. If possible get about 3-5 copies since you will need the thing in the States as well. I can't really tell you how many days you should take off. Basically you have to fill out the required forms in package 3 and send these back and the checklist as well if you have obtained all the necessary stuff they ask for (although you don't need to send any of it in, you take all the stuff they ask for on the checklist with you to the interview). By the way, did you get package 3 in the mail on Saturday?

@Arazia: We didn't need to get any documents translated from Dutch to English. I have heard that things like divorce papers might have to be translated, but I am not 100% sure about this. If you need to have things translated you have to get it done by a certified translator.

Take care all! :star:

Hoi Em and everybody else,

Unfortunately, packed 3 DIDN’T arrive upto today?!?!?

I don’t know what the hell is taking them so damn long,…..I mean,..Amsterdam is not THAT far away from me.

Could easily pick it up myself,…but I don’t think they will “appreciate” that very much?!?!?

Soooooooo to kill time, I made this funny thing called;

“Starters Dutch for English people”:lol::innocent:

English: The man made his breakfast.

Dutch: De man maakte zijn broek vast.

English: He had a careful mother.

Dutch: Hij had een kar vol modder.

English: He was brave in the war.

Dutch: Hij was braaf in de war.

English: He had his troubles for his paines.

Dutch: Hij had druppels voor zijn pijn.

English: Do you need a ticket, Jack?

Dutch: Doe je niet een tikkie gek?

English: The girl with the soft eyes.

Dutch: De kerel met het softijs.

English: What do you mean?

Dutch: Wat doe je, Mien?

English: The play is not fair.

Dutch: De plee is niet ver.

English: No parking here.

Dutch: Niet het park in, heren.

English: She made the noise.

Dutch: Ze meed de neus.

English: It's a long way.

Dutch: Er is een long weg.

Tja,….

Ook al is packet 3 er dan nog niet, wat minder leuk is.

Dat wil nog niet zeggen dat we geen humor meer hebben natuurlijk ;) ,…LMAO!!!

Mark,

I was so disapointed to see your post at work today. I can't log-in at work, so I had to wait until tonight to send a response. Do you have the number to call the embassy? I hope you find out some information on Tuesday. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that you guys still haven't received package 3. Have you been in touch with the Consulate yet about why it might be taken so long? Hopefully it didn't get lost in the mail or something, that was my big fear.....things getting lost in the mail.

Mark and Michele,

Do you two have any news yet? I'm sorry I keep bugging you guys, but I keep thinking about you two. Once you get on this site and make a connection with people who are at the same stage, it is really hard when things don't move at the same pace. Anyway, I'm hoping to see a post with your good news.

Hiya everyone,

Packed 3 did NOT ARRIVE here to this day?!? :help: !?!? Sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiifffffffffffffffff :(:crying:

Ofcourse I’ve been trying to call the Embassy, but I think the Visa Information Service: 0900-872 8472 number is out of order or something, cuz no matter which time I try to call, its always “out of order”?!?!?:huh:

Soooo im gonna try the other 2 numbers 2morrow – which I got since today!

So I’m gonna try these TWO 2morrow!

-020-575 5309 (€ 15,- / per call!)

-0900-872-8470 (€ 0.70 / minute)

And try to find out what the hell is going on!

I let you all know something,…as soon as WE know something!

How are things with you all?

Everything going as it’s supposed to be?

Regards Mark.

 BUMP Netherlands Thread

Hey all-

Well, I finally spoke to a person at the Embassy this morning, I found out that they mailed Mark's packet 3 on the 3rd August :o --It got sent to Mark's "old" address ( even though USCIS told me in MAY they had updated his address)- Typical......

At least we know what has happened! lesson learned here is never take their word for it that information changes to submitted documents have been taken care of

Anyway, I faxed his new address and they are mailing out a new packet this afternoon :dance::D

Hope all is well for everyone else!

I'll write more soon!

Take care ( doe voorzichtig)

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Good to hear that package 3 is finally on it's way to Mark, but jeez, what a stupid mistake to send it to his old address especially since they updated his address in May.....Ah well, hopefully things will soon be over for you guys now!!!!!

Ed and I looked at a house today 'cause we really want to get out of this apartment. The house we looked at wasn't too big (2 bed, 1 bath) but it was cosy and it has a huge fenced backyard which means lots of privacy and a nice little project for me to turn it into a flower and plant heaven (+ room plenty of room for a pool). We will be looking at some more places of course, but we bith really liked it and it's affordable on just a 1 income for the moment.. Ah well, I'll keep you guys posted.

Take care all!

Hello everyone. It sounds like things are moving better for everyone. I'm so happy to hear the news about packet 3 and the house hunting sounds exciting. We had a little bit of excitement over here, last night when I called Wilmot at midnight, we was so excited he had a letter from the Embassy. He had waited until I called to open the letter. He thought it was the interview date, but I really didn't think so. Anyway when he opened it it was a letter asking him to summit three forms and that his is case is being processed. I'm confused about this additional letter, but he is faxing it to me shortly and then I will see exactly what it is saying.

I hope you all have great Friday and a good weekend.

(F) Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww (F) Keltic--there is the sweet little "peanut".......Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

..* feeling all warm and fuzzy*....Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh :)

How are you doing? Any morning sickness? All OK?

Let us know how the Rosetta Stone software goes for you. I may consider ordering ( I have seen it advertised and it looks pretty comprehensive).

Rhonda, I am not sure what that letter is that he received; but a normal part of the processing to ready him for the medical or interview, maybe?

Em-great news about the house hunting. How exciting! Hope you find the perfect place! :D

As for news here, we are all fine and Mark should have his packet 3 today or tomorrow! My world is almost entirely revolving around the visa right now, so that's really the only news I have!

All OK here.

Catch up with everyone later!
