Like I said before. Pittsburgh blitzes, Warner dumps on the slants and screens.

Arizona - 28

Pittsburgh - 7

I actually heard this bonehead Steeler fan on the radio the other day complaining about their last Super Bowl win. "Well Roethlisberger really didn't have that good of a game, blah, blah, blah". What a cretin.

"NBC sells out Super Bowl ads for record $206M

Sunday, February 1, 2009 10:47 AM EST

The Associated Press

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — NBC said on the eve of Sunday's Super Bowl that it has sold the last two of the 69 advertising spots for the game, pushing total ad revenue for the event to a record $206 million.

The network said its total of $261 million in ad revenue for all of Super Bowl day also is a record, calling it an especially impressive feat in the middle of the economy's steep downturn.

The Super Bowl is the premier advertising event with an U.S. audience of 100 million viewers, many of whom watch closely during game breaks for the debut of entertaining, big-budget commercials. The ads have sold for between $2.4 million and $3 million per 30-second slot this year.

"These advertising milestones show the power of the NFL brand and the strength of the Super Bowl as a TV property in this economic climate," said Jeff Zucker, president and CEO of NBC Universal, a unit of General Electric Co. "The Super Bowl has become one of our country's biggest holidays, a uniquely American day, and advertisers recognized the value in being a part of it."

Thirty-two advertisers in all will showcase their products during Super Bowl coverage.

NBC said the ads featured during the game also will be available for viewing almost immediately after they air at Web sites including NBC.com, Hulu.com and Superbowl.com."

Darn, no GM ads this year, first time since 1991. Also read the halftime show will be censored.

is today the superbowl?

Yep, and not in St. Louis nor Pittsburgh, someplace called Miami, don't know why they do that either, unless more money is involved.

Ha, forgot that the Cardinals moved to Arizona, first was the Racine, WI Cardinals, then moved to Chicago, then joined with Pittsburgh, then to St. Louis, then to Arizona.n Wonder if I offer them five bucks if they will come back to WI?

Ha, sports were invented in this country to bring people of different schools together to make new friends and exchange ideas. Then they became professional at the turn of the last century.

Somehow, I have the peculiar notion that the original main objective of sports didn't work out, rather than making new friends, more like making new enemies. And rather than exchanging ideas, fists were more like it.

Half the fans will be happy today, the other half, miserable, and none will have any say nor part in which team wins. Ha, found myself screaming at my own TV set like an idiot and mostly at my own team, so decided, who cares?

Who be interesting though if the NFL adopted NASCAR where all players would have to be the same precise size, weight, age, and even race, and get the same paychecks.

Do the supporting fans get a superbowl ring? For them it's back to the grindstone on a Monday morning, where the players get to live in their multi-million dollar homes, so who is really being suckered?

Ha, you are not the only one taking a nap, so are your birds, my five buck offer is off to bring them back to WI, Steelers are showing them mercy as not to embarrass them too bad. Wive is watching it now that I told her Bruce Stringbean is singing during the half time show. And after seeing that coke commercial, had to run out and buy a can.

Football Cardinals did move from Chicago to St. Louis, so not a question of being dumb, but a question if keeping up with changes every five minutes. Ha, who cares anyway. Did say I forget they moved to Glendale outside of Phoenix. I fell asleep during the 3rd quarter alone with both teams, but was funny watching the Steelers quarterback trip over his own guy with only a couple of feet to make another TD.
