Is it possible to go to the embassy and ask if they received the documents or is only emailing permitted? I know they received mine on May 23rd due to sending it registered mail but they have chosen to lie that they haven't even though I have the tracking number and know who signed for it. I don't care about whatever stupid reason they have for lying, probably to mask their incompetence, I just want them to acknowledge they have it.

I guess it couldn't hurt if you or your fiancee are close to the embassy, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. They won't even answer questions regarding K visas over the phone.

They got our Packet 3 on May 12th. Last week they told us via email we had missing documents email and then POW the interview is scheduled for Thursday. Its a total ####### shoot but you could here something soon. It seems like everyone is getting interviews now.

There is no rhyme or reason in the order people are getting interviews. After all this BS about missing documents and them not sending me a NOA 2, then all of a sudden an interview is scheduled? I wonder what is up their sleeve for the interview?

It certainly seems like the embassy got another interviewer or direction to hit some statistics? Its just crazy everyone getting delayed and then all kind of slots opened up after the scheduling last week. I've never read anything where the embassy makes first contact and asks you to come in for the interview the next day.

I'm thinking, and once again maybe giving them too much credit, that they realized they were asking for documents NOT listed to be turned in, namely the Thai ID and House Registration, probably after enough complaints over the fact they screwed up.

For everyone going to an interview, I would certainly make sure those documents are in hand at the time of the interview, along with everything else.

Our petition has been sitting out since October 2008. It's been in Bangkok since the beginning of March. It's been through the hot season and into the rainy season now. . I bet that thing is stanky! When I told a colleague at school the situation, he replied, "Man, you should have thrown 1,000 Baht in like that guy on the message board suggested."

That story reminds me of a story my grandmother has told me about my great-grandfather. He came over from the Old World, and while taking his citizenship test, which he could hardly understand due to his lack of English, he stopped the officer and said "Sir, look here. Look here." as he removed his derby hat to reveal a crisp $50 bill (in 1920's mind you) tucked up inside. The officer gave him a stern look and said "Do you know it's a crime to bribe a federal officer?" To which great-grandpa Daniel quickly replaced his hat and said "Oh, nothing, nothing." He did get his papers.

Still no response from the BKK embassy whether they got my package or not. This whole process has made me full of rage! I hate the feeling of being at the mercy of complete ineptitude.

Man its quiet around here...

Well we are 34 hours away from our interview (not that I'm counting or anything). We have both been burning brain cell's and the midnight oil to get everything ready. Its coming together but we will be going right to the wire with this. Hopefully Chada was able to get Wednesday off. If not I don't see how she's going to make everything happen. I am thrilled to get the chance to interview but when I think about how many people could go from sending packet 3 to an interview with 2 days notice it blows my mind. I feel very fortunate we got everything completed on my last trip / pre NOA2 in March.

We will be getting feedback from someone who is doing a K1 interview tomorrow and I will be sure to let everyone know Thursday morning how our turned out. Hopefully our interview debriefs on VJ will be of help to some others.

But when you sent in the packet 3 you told the embassy (form DS2001) that you had all documents and were ready for the interview!

Good thing you didn't wait for packet 4 before getting the medical exam!

Still no response from the BKK embassy whether they got my package or not. This whole process has made me full of rage! I hate the feeling of being at the mercy of complete ineptitude.

Have you emailed them yourself, or have you been using a lawyer as a proxy?

The embassy seems to be very responsive at times, and other times emails go completely unanswered. No idea why this is. At one point, the visasbkk2 mailbox was full (within the last month or 2), so they probably don't have enough people to even respond to all the emails (even though this is their preferred method of communication).

Not sure there is much else you can do other than keep emailing them. I think of all the emails I have sent them over the past couple months, about 75% have been answered, and of those about 65% or so have been responses that were useful. I've actually found the people answering my emails at the embassy more competent than USCIS operators, but that isn't saying much.
