I would assume the consular section, and more specifically, the visa section of the consular section, as opposed to the American services section of the consular section. I assume they will direct you to the appropriate area when you enter the embassy anyway. Can anyone who has actually had an interview confirm this?

It's been several years since I've been there but I believe that the IV Unit is on the opposite side of the road of where the American Citizen's Services Unit is. Guards at the gates are happy to direct lost fiancées.

Yay, I'll be in Thailand in three days! I'd like to give the embassy a tongue lashing, but I should refrain :) I'll just be happy to be with my fiancee again! This waiting is killing me :S

Just got back from the Udon area less than a week ago myself. What part will you have the pleasure of visiting?

Hello Everyone,

My questions continue! Here we go We emailed the embassy for packet three to be mailed to my wifes house in thailand where her son is staying awhile back and they said they would mail out asap! In addition they emailed all the forms to us in attachments along with a chacklist in Thai and one in english. Well they never included form ds-2001 and it wasnt mentioned on the the thai checklist nor the english checklist so we never sent it, However on the last page we wrote where it asked for the bnk # my sons singature along with my wife email address and mailing address and phone number. So my question will this be a problem because this form ds-2001 wasnt sent with all the rest of the requried docs? this is for a k2 visa.

thanks and glta

The visa unit is in the same building as ACS. Once through security, the sidewalk curves to the left. Their will be people outside at the desk taking applications/assisting for other visas. Go inside and approach the appropriate window (believe it was window 4, 5, and 6 but it's been awhile since we were there).

Thank you, great map, I only hope the Embassy starts processing again and then I will get a chance to visit there. This is crazy. No new list as promised and no news. I emailed for an update and got no response... So they have gone into information lockdown.... GREAT

Mike,

See the post from magic girl (my fiancee) just above on this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=2956459

As she notes, the embassy is processing Packet3 but will no longer anser email requests regarding interview dates. They're not in information lockdown (at least I hope not!!) , they've just changed their MO for dealing with the public.

The new instructions, also posted by Thanti, are at:

http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k_i...ckage_may09.pdf

We are still hopeful to get our interview scheduled shortly. We resubmitted the document they claimed was missing (my name change, which had been part of the initial I-129F filing) so they have no excuses now for not issuing us a date.

Good luck to everyone else in getting your interviews, or whatever stage you are at!!

Yes, thank you... I see they (Bangkok Embassy) did not put out a new list this week as they said they would in an email posted a few days ago. Has anyone got a thai speaker with access to the Thai chat website that deals with this subject? Is there any other information being talked about over there? I guess I am just in that searching for info mode, I hope this will pass soon. I thought stuck at NVC was bad, but oh no this is much worse.... So close and yet so far.

Do you mean usvisa4thai.com? If so, I think several of the people who post on this thread have fiancees on that site, including mine. My fiancee has not mentioned anything other than what you said, and she checks the site often. She expected an update on Monday (or I guess Tuesday of this week due to the holiday) as well. Don't think there is much we can do other than wait for the embassy to schedule the interviews. We're dealing with the government here, so there is no doubt that it will be done as inefficiently as possible, so I'm now prepared for a long wait. I've called in the past (a month or so ago) and they wouldn't answer any of my questions over the phone, now they apparently aren't answering emails. Gotta love bureaucracy.

Just got back from the Udon area less than a week ago myself. What part will you have the pleasure of visiting?

We'll be headed to Ko Chang the day after I get into BKK. We'll spend the weekend there, then a week in our home in Chaiyaphum and a week in Nong Khai.

Y'all have to remember that the embassy is hitting that string of lazy days between Songkran and all the extra holidays they get from the official US ones they observe :) That will obviously put a stick in the spokes so to speak. There may also have been an internal issue they're trying to resolve.
